Default If i could move anywhere in the world it would be ____?

If you could pack up all your stuff and move anywhere in the WORLD, whats your choice?

    Ill start:

Id move to amsterdam, 100%, me and my gf just fell in love with the city, we plan to finish up school here (Both in last year) and move withen a few years to there.

Also, for when im older, id want to move to vienna austria, love the city, its a more mature city, so id love to love there when im like >35 years old.

    And go!

Couple threads like this already, check out http://forums.beyond.ca/st/337790/where-would-you-live/

I've visited/worked/lived in 320+ cities in 25+ countries and I'd still probably go for Calgary without the winter. I'd like the temperature to remain between 15c and 30c all year round.

I've contemplated leaving quite a bit, mostly to:
    - France: Nice, coast
    - Poland: Krakow/Warsaw, family, women
    - Australia: friends, weather
    - NZ: friendly sheep
    - USA: California but expensive/broke, major earthquake overdue, Austin TX nice weather/culture, Denver cuz it's like Calgary
    - Caribbean islands: weather, certain job opportunities

It's hard to find Calgary's natural surroundings, space, job opportunities, mountain roads, quality of life and (ahem) culture anywhere else. It's a real shame because the culture and women are a lot more fun really anywhere else.

Amsterdam is a shithole full of crazies, and if you're going for the weed, they're not letting tourists into coffeeshops anymore. The rest of Holland is interesting, but there's a lot of poor immigrants, with all the problems and social friction that entails. You will also have a very difficult life if you don't learn Dutch.

    Vienna is boring, seriously dull

I love travelling to other places and even think about moving there....But I never feel so great as when the plane touches back down in Calgary.

All things considered, Calgary is probably one of the better places to live

like the english saying grass is always greener on the other side.

I've travelled many across the world and lived in many different countries. calgary is a great place. it does not have the size of toronto or montreal or big american like nyc or boston or west coast like los angeles or san francisco. it is though a great city with look at everything we have near by, freedom, economic opportunity.

Hawaii. I'm sure I'd get bored of it in 5 or 6 years, but that'd be a really nice 5 or 6 years, lol.

its really weird. I moved to banff 5 years ago right out of high school and i just moved back to vancouver(where i lived most my life) I find my self really missing banff/calgary and often find myself thinking why i left? I really never thought that it would have happened but it has...I really don't know where i would live i had a chance to move anywhere in the world, i just haven't traveled as much really.

From the places I've been. I would probably be pretty happy in the philippines. France would be pretty awesome too! i love cheese! haha

I allways wanted to live somewhere in BC, either Fernie, Osoyoos, or in the Okanagan Valley.

It could be anywhere really as long as it meets certain criteria.

Allows me to enjoy winter and summer sports.
I make "enough" money to cover my bills.
    Great friends.

    So far Calgary rules.

This. Been to hundred's of cities and 50 countries myself and still trying to figure out a place to move. It all comes down to sacrifices, generally being the sacrifice of money for lifestyle and hot, non-money grubbin', women.

I agree with your list as well.

My top choices, depending on exactly what sort of lifestyle you're after would be:

    Working:
    Madrid, Spain
    Barcelona, Spain
    Krakow, Poland
    Amsterdam, Netherlands
    Perth, Australia
Gold Coast / Brisbane / Melbourne, Australia
    Anywhere but Auckland, New Zealand
California, Colorado, Oregon, Montana, Washington, Texas USA
    Cape Town, South Africa
    Bangkok, Thailand
    Dubai, UAE
    Singapore

    Playing:
    Koh Tao, Thailand
    Gili T, Indonesia
    Costa Rica / Nicaragua
    Boracay, Philippines

I actually quite like Amsterdam once you get away from the seedy areas. Dutch people are great, and Dutch girls are beautiful. Cape Town is much the same, only with better beaches and vineyards!

New York! Been here for a couple years now and still love it everyday. The finest collection of food and fashion in the world. All four proper seasons. Of course there are the negatives like any major city would have. Can this place be a permanent home...nope, but before having a family, this is the best place to be.

Don't think I will ever really feel at home in Calgary. Something about it just feels off to me, but it's where the money, and my friends are.

Have thought quite a bit about moving abroad, somewhere in Spain probably, I'm a British passport holder, which allows me to live within the EU easily.

That said, I could see myself living in:

    - Barcelona (loved the beach, food culture, women)
    - Cadiz, Spain (as above)
    - Paris (crowded, dirty, but the French know how to live)
    - Lisbon
    - Some Island in the South Pacific, or S.E. Asia (for a while)

Doing a big trip to Indonesia/Malaysia/Thailand/Etc. in the spring, it will be nice to see that part of the world, and what all the fuss is about.

If it's gotta be Canada, Toronto and Vancouver.
Kelowna's too small and depressing as hell in the winter, Calgary - well, we all know the cons of Calgary.

haha i feel that same way with alot of places, it wouldnt be forever, but those 3 or 4 years would be incredible.

I did 6 months abroad in austria earlier this year, and that time in europe really made me notice alot of things i hate in calgary. But i know that i would get those similar feelings about anywhere you live after a certain while, its all about trade offs

Never been to Europe/Asia and don't and have intention to ever go there, It just doesn't appeal to me at all. I've only really been to places like Mexico, Cuba etc. That being said, I would love to live in the States somewhere, places like Colorado, California, and Arizona appeal to me. If I could get a visa to work down there I would be there in a heartbeat.
