Hey guys,
Where do you get your replacement batteries? I need a couple new batts for my APC 1500 and BackUPS 800RS. Trying to find something that isn't terrible, since shipping is expensive on these suckers.

I'm also looking for a replacement for my APC SUA1500. You can confirm the part # for it here: http://www.apc.com/tools/upgrade_selector/index.cfm
Memory Express can bring in a replacement unit. Ask them to bring it in from Synnex's Calgary warehouse so you don't have to pay to ship it from Toronto/Van to Calgary.
i am no electrical engineer but I just grabbed the specs from the battery i took out and called some battery suppliers in calgary. I just gave them the max current draw and the AH (amp hours) and picked one up. Should be cheaper that way. I have seen sealed lead acid batteries at princess auto before too.
I always thought new batteries from APC were reasonably priced and never shopped around, was I wrong?
Thanks for the info.
I have contacted some battery place in calgary and they can make the batteries for me (put them into the APC crate and reattach the connections, but their pricing was pretty high, so didn't seem worth it. I have emailed batteryworld, we will see what they can do. I will check with memex as well.
www.upsforless.ca can get me both batteries for $153 all in with shipping and GST, but of that $40 bucks for shipping. Was hoping to find a local supplier for about the same price minus the shipping, as I know I will need more in the future.
B&E carries many of the UPS-spec gel cells in their store locally.
sweet good to know, will have to check it outOriginally posted by revelations

Thanks. Even after the discount the price came out to $220 shipped, only $16 of which is shipping which is a good price on shipping at least, but isn't worth it for me to buy from there.
batteryworld wants about the same. So far, upsforless.ca seems to be the best option shipped, but still gonna check out B&E for individual batts to see what it comes to
Please up date this tread with what you get!Originally posted by eblend

I have a smaller UPS with a dead battery that I've been thinking of using for our cordless phone/answering machine but I don't want to spent too much.

how much were ur UPS's brand new? $2xx for a replacement battery?
i was looking at cyperpower ones that were <$2xx after pricematch/beat. i hope their replacement batteries are cheaper.
I got both of my UPS for cheap, so I don't really know the retail. I got my 1500 for like 5 bucks at a yard sale a few houses down haha, needed a new battery right away, but I had a used one that worked for a year, but need another one now. my back-ups I paid $80 bucks for when compusmart was closing down, i worked there so got a good deal on that, don't know the retail at tha time. It lasted 5 years but finally needs a new battery. Generally the battery is probably going to cost close to 70% of the UPS costOriginally posted by dragonone

I never spend more than $200 on my 1000VA to 1500VA UPS's because of Dell deals and such.Originally posted by dragonone

But I have not seen any deals yet and I guess it's more green just replacing the battery.

didn't really think of ebay, but looking there now the shipping I'd the same price as the battery. So far upsforless seems to be the best option even Sith high shipping, but want to see b&E first before I make the purchaseOriginally posted by bighead2267

At home I just use batts from Battery World.
At work I get genuine APC batts usually from CDW.ca
Not much price difference really.

eblend, did you end up buying from upsforless?
Both my APC BackUPS XS 900 batteries shit their pants in the past few weeks...
I was able to pickup a Back-UPS Pro 1300 when they were on sale at Staples when the first one died to hold me over...
Looks like it will be around $105 ($30 shipping) to get replacements from them: UBC32 Replacement Battery Kit
Any better options?

Find out the size/series of battery you need, they most probably have it as they carry the whole http://www.power-sonic.com/ line, among others...
