Do you think this is true?
Will Daft Punk go down in history as a musical "great"?
Are they going to be remembered with the other titans of music like the rock bands of the 70's?
Do you think they deserve to be?
discuss.

yes they are legendary, but definitely out of the mainstream (except for a couple lame sell out songs sold for advertising or sampling in commercial rap songs). i think they are more like the Velvet Underground of the 1990s/early 2000s.

Love them both for different reasons.
When I first heard Homework is was a totally new sound. The track were solid and the beats were really new and fresh at the time. So there is also a bit of nostalgia for me in regards to Homework.
Discovery builds on Homework and brings things a bit more upbeat and positive sounding and definately was more vocally driven too.
I really can't say that one is better than the other.
The thing is there out of the mainstream but they are still house hold names. Huge cult status.Originally posted by Guillermo

I'm just wondering cause I was looking at the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame inductees (GN'R FUCK YEAH) and I was wondering if Daft Punk would ever get a nod.
Kraftwerk definitely should as well.
They were the only good thing to come from Tron Legacy (IMO). The soundtrack is amazing.Originally posted by TaiChino
