    Default Salsa Recipe?

Does anyone have any good personalized salsa recipe? I am attending a potluck this weekend and since I've been craving for some salsa and chips for a while I thought why not make one for this weekend!

To keep it safe, I am planning to make it medium spicy!

Depends on taste i like alot of onion.

Use Roma Tomatoes or vine ripped.
    White onion (walla walla)sweet
    Cilantro
    Lime juice not lemon
Hot pepper of choice..Jalapenos how ever you spell it, paplanos
Sprinkle in some chiptole powder not much.(smokey taste)

Make several small diffirent batches and adjust ingredients to your liking.

let it sit for a couple of hours before serving..somewhere cool.

Don't use hot sauces to add heat.

    I keep it pretty simple.

    - 1-3.8L can of tomatoes
    - 2 large onions, diced
    - 2 large green peppers, diced
    - 6-7 jalapeno peppers chopped
    - 6 cloves garlic, minced
    - 2-5.5oz cans tomato paste
    - 1 1/2 cups white vinegar
    - 1 cup loosely packed, finely chopped cilantro
    - 1 tsp ground cumin

Put everything in a large pot, and bring to a boil.

WARNING - This recipe makes a LOT of salsa (~4 litres). If you aren't planning on canning it (in sealer jars and in a canner for 20min) cut back on the recipe.

I do the exact same thing minus the chipotle, I'm sure it would be great just haven't tried it. But great recipe, simple.

    I do something similar.
Finely dice all of the following:
    Tomatoes
    Sweet onions
    Avocado
    Jalapeno peppers or Serrano's (hotter)
    Cilantro
    Lime Juice
    Salt

Tastes better if you make it a few hours in advance. the avocado adds a little richness and cuts a bit of the heat. Usually I try to roughly proportion it 2 parts tomato, 1 part onion and avocado. Salt, lime juice and hot peppers to taste.

Never thought of using avocado in a salsa..only used it in my 9 layer dip.I'll give it a try.
Another tip is to add pineapple if you want a more sexy taste but not mixed with avocado.
