Default The Official "What Did You Get" Thread Christmas 2011

I do this every year for the materialistic bastards out there to fill out what they got :P

And as always, I'm making it two days ahead of the big day as people celebrate the giving of gifts at all times during the holidays.

    List em up, peoples!

    So far I got:

    From family:

-Sirius satellite radio, totally unexpected from my brother, with a $50 to activate it with I didn't ask for it, but my brother knows I have my radio thumping along in fine style on my way to work and home every day, so it's an awesome thoughtful gift
-Braun series 1-150 washable electric razor to replace the dying Phillips rotary I got YEARS ago
-Salton Cinema Popper popcorn maker. It's an oil popper, so it'll make awesome popcorn
-The usual soap, antiperspirant, toothpaste, etc, that we always get each year.
-Halo: Glasslands by Karen Travis (been waiting sooooo long for this specific storyline to continue)
-A Dance With Dragons by George R.R. Martin
-A Galilean thermometer for my room
-Some sugar-free candies/chocolate. I'm really trying to watch my sugar intake now that I'm headed in the right direction for good health.
-A Logitech G500 mouse. Awesome! Now I have a new mouse to pew pew and stabby stabby online with

    From roommates:

-A philosphy book (The Philosopher's Handbook: Essential Readings from Plato to Kant)
-Rise of the Planet of the Apes blu-ray
-A video/MP3 player for the gym
-A set of green teas, 60 bags, 12 different flavors. Favorite so far is lemongrass chai.

    From friends/others:

-A free pencil render of Rogue (X-Men) in old school 1980's green and black jumpsuit from my buddy Carlos from Spain.
-A $25 Cineplex gift card from work

Last year I spent thousands of dollars (during the whole years duration) on items that could be seen as useful or meet a need at the time. I figured I shouldn't have to buy Christmas gifts because of this. When Christmas came around everyone is like "Huh, where's my shit".

This year I didn't do shit for anyone, bought myself a lot of expensive shit I don't really need (New Tig welder, Motorcycle, etc) and paid max $100 for each gift for close family, and shitty little gift cards for some stupid crap like Tim Hortons.

My theory is that the little shit on Christmas will satisfy these ingrates more than a years worth of timely gifts and good deeds. If this turns out to be the case, I guess I'll just have to be more selfish or philanthropical.

Guys, this thread isn't to have a philosophical debate about why or how you didn't give or get, make your own thread for that. Leave this thread to the materialistic bastards
