I don't know if I can call it a hobby, but every once in a while I'll buy a big-ass lego set to build. Generally if I'm getting stressed at work, it makes for a good way to completely take my mind off things for six or seven hours. And then I have to explain to guests why a grown ass man has a lego set on his shelf

But I'd kill for a woodworking shop. I play with small projects whenever I go back to the farm, but that shop is dirty and full of dull, old tools which makes it pretty hard to build anything worth displaying.

Lapidary, silversmithing and stone carving. Have not been able to do this since I returned to Calgary, but will start again ASAP.

Lately, I've been painting nerf guns into steampunk style for my wife.

I'm thinking of buying a lizard. We've done the fish I think it's dragon time.
I think I'm good where I'm at. Hacking is pretty cheap (I think) and it stops me from making enormous portions for 4 meals worth since I live alone. I mean I can buy a can of soup with all the veggies in it, vs if I tried to make a soup with the one carrot I bought, I'd end up with 2 or 3x as much.

No word of a lie, about 4 years ago I worked with a tile importer from Vancouver for a very large order and his business name was Vandelay. I just about pissed myself. I also refused payment till I received the shipment.

Racing. While we are on a car forum, 95% of people here have never touched a track or driven their car in anger anywhere but public roads. To anyone not into cars (99% of people in this world it seems), its like I have three heads (what do you MEAN you rolled a car down a cliff and its not a big DEAL?!)

And my racing is such a miniscule subsection as well. You guys should come out more, I swear I am just as much of a dickhead in real life as on the forums I even give rides to people on test days. You can volunteer and basically stand around in the nice weather watching cars rip by with free food.

    This was me last weekend:

I need a co-driver for a couple of events this year... I need someone to train. Just sayin', spread the word. You'll be in one of the fastest cars in Western Canada, and your costs aren't exorbitant

    Edit-
Another hobby is going and looking at houses. I like to build things, the family in Red Deer has a small house building business. I love critiquing the design, finding out what I'd do different, the contrasts of colors. Its a lot of fun, costs nothing (or if you drive a couple bucks) and its fun to dream of what the future has instore

I do sports photography for my high school I went to and I also train the field hockey team. I'm a guy though so it's "interesting" for lack of a better word to play a different sport. Besides, I get to hang out with my LGs all spring

    Trying to get into photography

Also I suppose my other hobby would be moderating a forum and doing a bunch of other stuff for them. Its pretty involved and thankless job, be nice to your moderators

Once I'm finished school in a month hopefully I can expand on my hobbies. Would like to kayak and learn to weld.

Nothing of weird or different in this thread.
Maybe the silversmith guy or the gold panners/rock searchers.

Just started refinishing old guns...would like to turn it into a long term hobby. Also really interested in getting a metal detector...is that weird?
