Cool, Honda Fits assembled in China. Just like most of our electronics these days.
I would never buy a car made in China.
How about everything else in your life that most likely has something made in China in it as a component or made in China entirely?Originally posted by CanmoreOrLess

Ya because all the parts that they get at the assembly plants in the US are american manufacutured.Originally posted by CanmoreOrLess

2017 VW Jetta 1.4T (winter car)
2010 F-350 Nortruck Tool Shed
2007 BMW 5 (Wifey's)
2004 Audi A4 1.8T 6spd Stage III w/ Meth
1985 F-250 6.9L IDI w/ATS turbo
Since it is Honda, it shouldn't be a problem as they would keep pretty tight control on the manufacturing and it will still be engineered by them unlike some of the chinese vehicles with their hilarious crash tests.
It's probably just a matter of time before everything we touch, eat and buy is entirely made in china...

Does the "L" in the VIN stand for loose? As in everything is loose and will fall apart while driving?
No thanks to china made cars for me...

Nice so they are good enough for Canadians but not good enough for Americans. Ford/Getrag has had a lot of issues with transmissions assembled in China so chalk me up as a skeptic.
Only time will tell if it's worthy. If it doesn't fall apart when I sneeze in the cabin, it's a good day.
And totally not China's fault either.Originally posted by projekz

The thing is.. I wonder how much Chinese content is already in our cars? Just because it was assembled in North America or Japan doesn't mean that it's not filled with 90% plastics made in China. But still... No thanks. This move only advances Honda further into the shitter...
Although I suppose Chinese are hard workers and take pride in their jobs, unlike fat assed entitled Americans who feel $60/hr is not enough to assemble cars and booze up during lunch breaks...
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!
Well we, the western nations, want cheaper products, thus this has to happen.Originally posted by Disoblige

I think it'll just be a matter of time that things made in china will become too expensive, and things will be made elsewhere...

Yeah...with the economy in the US right now it won't be too long before the Chinese get their stuff made in the U.S. of A.
Lol, China's economy is pretty centralized. Most of it is 3rd world. Barring war/regime changes, factories will do well there for longer than any of us will be alive.Originally posted by cloud7

Yep, enjoy the low prices now because the end result is going to result in a general decline of the Westren world.Originally posted by projekz

Nobody is immune to off-shoring, not the high-paid UAW workers (lie) or the educated Engineers who program the software that operates your vehicle.
Once china gets a little bit more wealthy, we'll see manufacturing slowly move to Africa. That's the next frontier, and we'll see it in our lifetimes.
