I still don't understand how anybody could get hit by a C-Train. I hate the level crossings as much as the next guy but come on!
The whole system must be poorly designed and not safe. /end retard
Wish I could say i was surprised at this.
See Crank. See Crank Walk. Walk Crank Walk.

Could this be considered natural selection?
lol this thread strikes me in such a way that just baffles me... I just don't get it how you can't see a 80 tonne train or hear all of the warnings that come along with it
Next, man drunk while texting on phone gets hit by C-Train and has been airlifted to Foothills Hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
This incident happened around 1 a.m. with few blocks away from the nightclub...

Does everything matter or does nothing matter?
I dont understand why it's so hard to get, theyre usually either drunk, high, or suicidal.Originally posted by jdmXSI

nah, here is the scenario.
You are in the club, down 6 beers.
Leave the club, put you cap on, put in your ear buds, turn on your iPod, crank the dubstep. Start walking home, head down.
At these level crossings, it is just some staggered gates to walk through, and with your head down, and tunes cranked, you won't see or hear the warnings or the train.
It is pretty easy to see how someone could get hit.

however, put some booze in you, and normal processes don't become so automatic.

People do it at SAIT every day, granted most of them are looking but many have in ipods or are talking on a cell phone. I think as well a lot of people look and see the train pass one direction and figure it is safe, even though the bells are still ringing because a train is coming (eventually) in the other direction.

It may be over cautious, but even when I'm driving and approaching an intersection, I glance left and right before going through it.
I honestly think that the Ctrain station is hunted by ghost.. Why do you think people keep on dying? The dead spirits roaming around is causing this!! I truly believe this!!

I don't trust the arms and signals to work 100% of the time, so I look ahead when I can on both sides to make sure.
I'd kill myself too if I was listening to dubstep.Originally posted by spikers

Agreed +2. Elementary stuff to look both ways but it gets compromised if you're distracted/intoxicated.Originally posted by spikers

Lol. They actually just put up a sign for a new nightclub in the same building though. I think it's where the pool hall used to be.Originally posted by CapnCrunch

The accident was on 58th though. Most likely a homeless guy, as the only thing open at 8pm down that way is Memory Express (which is where I was when this happened, coincidentally)
