Either a steal of a deal, it's broken or stolen. Might be worth checking out for those interested.

Something's wrong unless he's completely retarded. Maybe stolen or something. He could get $1,700+ for that easy if it's mint. It is a USA copy though, so no warranty here. Maybe hes missing a "1" in front of his price.
says hes got a receipt
wonder if he's left the country but left it with a friend, and wants you to send the money with western union :-P

Nobody is that stupid. He would sell that just as fast at $700 as he would at, say, $1400, because that's still an absolute steal. There has to be something fishy going on, because people would be lining up at his door at double that price, AND it would be less suspicious.
When it comes to Canon Canada and USA make zero different for the warranty just an FYI on that. It isn't as retarded as the Nikon warranties which are Nikon USA and Nikon worldwide.
The warranty card for it will be CANON USA & CANADA. Canon does the warranties a little differently. Only issue would be if Canon would honor the warranty on a 3rd party lens. I know if you are a CPS member they don't even care who bought the lens or where they bought it from just so long as you have the receipt showing it was purchased within the warranty period.
That price point is certainly odd.

Also the Ad has been pulled, so it's either sold or a scam.
It would have to be:
a) scam
b) stolen
c) damaged
d) grey market
You'd be surprised how cheap you can find grey market equipment in Asia for. Still not that cheap but it's a tad wierd.
Also just an FYI the Nikon Worldwide Warranty in Canada is good for repairing items in the US. The Nikon USA warranty is good for USA only. I know they do/can make exceptions but it's not an easy thing to do.
I didn't think Nikon warranties were transferable anyways?

None of them are. However, depending on the situation they won't ask. There is just no guarantee they'll accept the warranty. They may or may not.
I know if you are a NPS or CPS member they tend not to care. So long as they can prove it's within warranty they are usually aok.
