so your going with the 2L? Why not 2.2?

Is the FE3 you have naturally asperated? same motor from a precidia? If it is N/A run low boost, like 7-8 psi, unless your doing the internals, ie lower compression, pistons, metal head gasket, ?cam?.. as for actually swapping it in, ask around in the Mazda sites if it's a direct drop in. you might not need mounts, but you'll need more vacume lines, oil lines, water lines, and better fuel output..

I say get the whole 2.2 motor, tranny, and ECU from the probe GT, and MX-6 GT's, drop it in, and crank the boost..

BTW: it's ALOT of work.... take your time, get lots of sleep.

86 mm stroke 3.39 cu in
    Aluminum head, cast iron block

The intake are also a jewel.
its a variable intake with 2 sets of runners.

the hp on these motors is also why im goin with it....170 hp non turbo. The 2.2L only pack 140 when turbo'd. this motor will do well over 260 when runnin 9 psi...ive been told the enigne can take 15psi with no work to engine....but this is what ive read..like do more resuch..dont wanan be talkin shit

any engine can take 15 psi with no engine work, how long will it last?? shit i could throw 30 psi if my turbo could do it, I owuld blow the engine in seconds.

the FE3 is a good swap based on the dohc, thats the probe with the 2.2 sohc, do the dual, bore out the intake big time, get a custom cut crank and good pistons, rebuild the bottom end and invest in head gaskets, get lots of power.
