Default 2013 Ford Fusion REVEALED, Suprising look!

Looks like an Aston from the front and a Audi A6 from the rear, so far i like it. It's different and certainly blows the Sonata and camry out of the water in terms of design. Though buyers in this segment seem to like the more conservative styling in midsize sedans. Lincoln version to follow.....

Aston/Audi/Mercedes mix is what I see. If I didn't know it was a Ford Fusion and it wasn't such a blatant rip off of other cars I'd say it's pretty damn good looking...

Top half of front looks like a retarded lancer with braces, bottom half looks like a audi r8

Back reminds me of a sonata

Not trying to start an argument here, but what do those things have to do with each other?

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Ford is really blowing my mind with new engines, technology, and design. All this needs is ecoboost and AWD. Not one or the other, but both.

Honestly, Ford is a company I have avoided for many many years. I've owned four, and all had aspects which I hated. Besides this, all four were some of the most unreliable cars I've ever owned.

Styling in the past has never been a strong suit for Ford, imo. In the 90's and 2000's they went into what I call their "bubble phase", where so many of the cars had rounded edges. So now they were feminine looking, AND bland.

But in recent years, imo Ford has really taken steps forward. The Mustang is actually one of the best sport coupes out there. The Fiesta is one of the best econobox buys out there. And imo, this Fusion looks fantastic.

Of course, these are just renderings. A quick Google search finds a more pedestrian looking version.

Good news for you then, the 2.0L Ecoboost can be ordered with AWD.

Hot-looking car, definitely one to keep an eye on.

I'd have to agree with you. I really like the styling Ford has taken their cars in recent years. I certainly wouldn't count them out for my next vehicle purchase.

Ford is on the up and up. They are finally innovating and their build quality has apparently vastly improved. This new Fusion doesn't look bad at all. What kind of power does their 2.0l turbo make?

    Pics from Detroit show

Wow, it's a nice looking hybrid. Ford also invested a lot in MyFord Touch and that thing is pretty dam good. No other car company has something comparable yet.

YEAH!!! Too bad it isn't the V6TT ecoboost. Wouldn't mind the extra 100HP+

Some engine specs I found with my limited work internet:

The powertrain strategy for the new Fusion offers a choice of five different propulsion methods, all with four-cylinder gasoline engines. The base mill is carryover a 2.5-liter inline-four, which produces 170 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque.

Ford expects most buyers to gravitate to the Fusion's turbo engines, the first of which is a 1.6-liter EcoBoost inline-four engine, available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. It is rated for 179 hp and 172 lb-ft. Thanks in part to a new engine stop-start system, Fusions with this engine are expected to return 26/37 mpg (city/highway). Ford says the stop-start feature alone can reduce fuel consumption by as much as ten percent in city driving.

The next choice is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine which should produce 237 hp and 250 lb-ft, while returning 23/33 mpg. It is the most performance-oriented version of the Fusion, so the six-speed automatic receives paddle shifters, and 19-inch wheels with summer tires and all-wheel-drive are optional. The 2.0-liter does not receive the stop-start system.

The 2013 Fusion hybrid gets all-new hardware that represents Ford's third generation of hybrid tech, starting with a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-four, downsized from 2.5 liters in the prior car. The new Fusion is expected to return 47/44 mpg (city/highway), up from 41/36 mpg for the current hybrid, and can travel at up to 62 mph on electrical power alone, versus 47 mph in the old car. Total power from the engine and motor is 185 hp and 130 lb-ft. The entire system is built by Ford in Michigan, although the batteries are imported from Mexico.

Most of those google pics are also renderings. You can tell in the spy shots that it has the same front end as the OP renderings (you know asides from the detroit auto show link Zephyr just put up, lol)

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Looks good. One of the best looking midsizes out there if this is how they will deploy it

Am I the only one that likes the current fusion? This one looks ok but definitely doesn't look like a ford. Having said that, I'm all for change and I'm happy to see Ford trying new things.

Our work car up in Fort Mac is a full load (minus leather) 2010 Ford Fusion SEL awd.

It's awesome. 10L/100km mileage, smooth ride, tons of power, wicked 6 speed transmission, etc.

Only complaint I have are the interior plastics are that hard crappy stuff.
