Other than that, why should the rest of the city pay for your towing services?

Then why should you get it lowered? Are you a loser? Do you want to go before the court and claim that you are such a leech on society that we should all have to pay for your mistake? I would be embarrassed to have to do that! My best speeding ticket so far is ~$400, I was not happy, but I never considered going and asking for a handout. There was a time when poor people were embarrassed to ask for help, now "rich" people want more handouts than anyone.

There used to be a saying that fits well "If you can't do the time, dont do the crime"
