Default Best Tablet for Web Surfing?

I want a tablet but pretty much just for reading .pdfs and surfing the web.

Playbook at $200 seems good value but 7" screen is probably too small. My Kindle's 6" screen sucks for .pdfs.

So I figure my best options are:

    Galaxy 10.1" 16BG $400
    Asus 10.1" Eeepad Transformer $350

Transformer Prime and iPad are both $500+ which is fine, if it's worth the money? I'm not an Apple guy and seriously just want good web browsing.

Thoughts? Any cheaper options from Toshiba or Lenovo or Acer I should consider?

Ipad doesn't do flash out of the box, which is still widely used on websites, so I would say it isn't a good option, expecially if all you want is web browsing. I use my HP Touchpad that i got for $100 for web browsing, have yet to hit a site that didn't work fully, and i use it daily.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

yea, if they were available I'd probably spend the extra money. I fly out of Calgary next week though and tablets are cheaper in Canada than in Dubai or Germany.

Yes, flash is a huge component on most webpages these days so I would suggest avoiding it as well. I also am not a huge fan of apples web browser itself.

I use a galaxy tab, the original one, and love it, and I know a few people with the new 10.1. I would recommend the 10.1 seeing as how you want a bigger screen, plus it's a lot faster.

I got a 3G Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it is awesome for web browing compared to my iPad 2. I even loaded a custom ROM on it and it just flies now even with multiple tabs. The only time now I find myself using the iPad 2 is for the magazine subscriptions, which is way better than using Zinio on Android.

If all you are doing is PDFs and web browsing, I don't think the prime will be worth the price over the transformer.

Decided to go with the Transformer. They're sold out everywhere...but finally landed the last one at Staples. I've been out of the technology game for a while so it's going to take me a bit to figure out all I can do with the Android OS - any tips would be appreciated!

Easy installer from market, then search for the apk's you wish to try.

iPad2, rooted Nook Color, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Asus EP121 and Iconcia w500 are currently in my household- nuff said.

iOS and Android are for consumption, the EP121 and w500 are full featured windows laptops that include bluetooth keyboards with touchscreen interfaces thrown in for free- with no limits to "app" installs. If they can be found at anything below retail(the w500 was $449 the last few weeks), they give anyone in the tablet market something to consider.

I've been thinking about getting a table for a long time now... haha the only reason I haven't is because I sit in front of 8 monitors all day at work, and I have my HTPC on a 55" LED at home (which I'm currently on),a BB Bold 9900 (work phone, and it fucking blows) and an iPhone.

I would imagine that a lot of you who have posted in this thread are in the same boat (already have work PC, home PC, smart phones)... does the tablet really add that much functionality for you guys?
