    Default Has UFC Peaked

It seems like the last 2 cars on Fox have been so/so. The PPV's havent been amzing either. I've noticed alot of people have stopped talking about it and even the bars are getting less packed during PPV's.

I think it's it's peaked and is on the decline.

I find it entertaining. More so than boxing.

The previous UFC event a few weeks ago in Rio was pretty good I thought. The ones on FOX definitely won't be converting regular folks into hardcore fans though I don't think.

I still find it very entertaining but a lot of the PPV's I won't even watch because I find the cards to be terrible. For me to pay $60 to watch a PPV I want to see a title fight or multiple TOP contender fights. For this reason I find myself ordering only a few a year because the rest I could care less about and will just stream them.

About a year and a half ago I worked at Shaw as a team lead and I can tell you UFC PPV's were at an all time high and growing. A team would be set up the week of the UFC PPV dedicated to direct calling customers and selling the UFC...huge huge huge profits all around on these events. So I can say that many people's interest might be fading but there are sooo many diehard fans that it has a long way to go I believe.

    - UFC is way better then boxing.
    - Way to many UFC events. They need to have 6 good fights on one card, instead of 6 cards with only one good fight.

I quite enjoy it still but, rarely watch it anymore. There's a card every few weeks it feels like and it's just too much. I prefer the time when the fights came along every couple/few months and you typically got a GREAT card that lived up to the hype and was a fun evening to look forward to.

Never really got into it to begin with. So much training they forget what they're there for. IMO better fights can be found outside any local bar at closing time. And I mean where is it gonna end??? UFC 6943? Gimme a break.

Any K-1 Grand Prix is easily better than even the best UFC event. I stopped watching UFC fights after Lesnar's second fight. I would have to agree with Dave, to many events with weak cards.

seems like its gone to shit lately, over saturation, poor judging, they need to have the fillers on fox, and have 4 super cards per year where there is a couple title defenses and the ppl that are actually in contention for belts.

Just an outsider's perspective, I never found UFC interesting to begin with. Too much time spent with two guys lubing each other up with their sweat wrestling around on the mat. They need to stand them up faster and more often so its more about striking, less about wrestling.

While I see what you are saying (I'm not a real grappling fan) I think there is less of that than there used to be. I think that is BECAUSE there was so much of it happening early on. If your strength is on the ground, that's where you play and strikers didn't have much chance (obviously). In my opinion, the overall takedown and ground defence game has greatly improved among contenders due to the prevalence of it in the earlier years and that has led to MORE stand up striking.

There's still a lot on the ground but, less than before. I think it's kind of a necessary "evil" so to speak as the sport continues to evolve.

(or, i'm just full of shit and don't know anything.....it's happened once before)

Been saying that it's been oversaturated for about a year now. Too many fights. It seems like every other week is an event. Not like before where it was a few events a year and they were worth watching.

I stopped watching UFC once every other gym started offering MMA classes. Which also coincides with UFC starting their reality TV show "Ultimate Fighter".

There was a time when UFC was true MMA, meaning you had boxers, Muay Thai fighters, wrestlers, BJJ and Karate specialists. Now it is just a bunch of competitors fighting with the same technique and formula with the majority of fights ending in some sort of decision.

    Boring.
