It's that time of year again...

I can't believe that Ferarri is using nearly horizontal pull rods in the front! Massa is going to be busting those on every curb!

As always, the McLaren looks fantastic.
Are there any driver changes this year?

Hulkenburg replaced Sutil at Force India
Ricciardo and Vergne replaced Buemi and Alguarsuari at Toro Rosso
Senna replaced Barrichello at Williams
I have no idea who replaced who in the bottom teams. There's a brown guy.
There's probably an inaccuracy in there somewhere.
Yeah, McLaren looks amazing again. The red on that ferrari looks duller than I remember, kinda looks like shit.
I'm happy Raikkonen is back.
damn that ferrari looks hideous..... the nose cone looks so ugly, damn regulations, they do make sense, but I wonder if teams were caught off guard? or what? I mean mclaren was able to get a normal looking nose, so whats the deal?

Wow, looks like every sq mm of surface area of those cars has been run through a new fluid dynamics program. Insane attention to the smallest aerodynamic detail.
That McLaren is sexy They chose to continue with the lower nose right from the cockpit and footwell bulkheads; look at the side profiles bewteen the McL and the Ferarri. They're getting way better suspension geometry for mechanical grip, possibly at the expense of feeding air to the front tray. But it worked last year...
Ferrari looks like they interpreted the technical regulations literally. It's like the nose was an after thought haha. And I still can't get over the fact that they're running pull rod front suspension on a modern high nose car. I have no idea how they can seriously justify it as the aero benefit would be negligable because the pushrod is in the wash behind the front wing and a-arms, and any gain from the slightly lower CoG would be offset by the extra unsprung weight of beefing up the pullrod to withstand the extra shear and bending forces due to the extremely low inclination angle it's running. It goes beyond any conventional reasoning. So either Ferarri's figured out something genius, or it gonna be a failure. I'm betting on failure based on how many times Massa broke his pushrod/upright last year.
These are just launch aero kits too. By the first race the aerokit will look significantly more detailed. The car won't be recognizable by years end.Originally posted by revelations

Cant wait!
Its not only about money. Its about freedom, friends and family too.
those plastic looking tires creep me out a little.
i'm surprised that the cascade diffusers are still on the front wing after hamilton claimed the car was faster without one at F1 India.

You mean those stacks of winglets? It's used to shape and divide the airflow to the main front wing elements and direct air around the tires to the rest of the car, which affects rear downforce. India was probably an exception as Hamilton prefers less downforce to the rear, and the reduction of drag helped straight line speed.Originally posted by syritis
