I tried to donate everything I didn't need, (or had a spare of etc) but I cant, since nobody wants organs from a type 1 diabetic. Kind of shitty....
Just trying to help people like her anyway I could.

I think I saw this on tv a while back, but it was about a boxer who died and donated all his organs, and they rounded up all the people that they transplanted his organs to, and brought them to meet his family. It was pretty awesome.

Yes, since I was old enough to drive. I personally know of a person waiting for a cornea (caught a super bug as a result of wearing contact lenses) and another needing a liver (always a health nut and non drinker... go figure).

Yup, take everything you can use and the rest to science.
Very well done video!
Yessir, have been since I was old enough.
Most definitely not, there's already enough humans on this planet

When you're donating your internal organs, the planet is very recently -1 human beings on the planet. So your concern isn't really a concern!
Brilliant! I'd love to see how firm you are on that logic if one of your parents/siblings or even a best friend or son/daughter was in a very serious accident. Of which they needed an organ transplant to live; and every viable donor had that exact same amazingly selfish logic.Originally posted by zarge

You're absolutely right there are quite an abundance of people on this earth, but that girl (like everybody else) is someones daughter. Just like someday it could be yours. What would you do in that situation?
Or wait I already know.... let her die right? or at least let her live a life of misery of being strapped to a machine 24/7?
.... of course.

That was really touching +1 for Organ Donor
I'm glad to see MOST of you here are such kind people.
I for one will be seeking an organ very soon as of a couple days before my birthday. Thus I would like to thank all those people out there willing to give.
Perhaps I shall get lucky??
Absolutely I will be an organ donor if needed.
I'm also registered on the stem cell/bone marrow registry, which I strongly urge people to consider. Took me 5 minutes and a cheek swab to register.

Success is the ultimate revenge.
I use to work at Subaru and the sales manager worked with another volunteer firefighter at the Chestermere fire dept. There was an unfortunate accident on hwy 1 just east of Calgary, his colleague was involved in a collision that took his life. On that same day one of the sales guys who has been on kidney dialysis and waiting for a kidney transplant, got a phone call not long after. One of the things in life I can truly say was amazing to witness. After seeing this thread, it has made me rethink of adding my name to be part of a donor card.
You actually don't have to sign any cards or do much more than inform your family and spouse of your wishes.Originally posted by jdmXSI

Should you die young, doctors will approach your family regarding organ donation. If you make it known to them of your wishes they won't hesitate in making the decision.

Definitely. I figure I won't need them if I die. Hack me up!
Putting the checkmarks on the back of the health card is all that is needed for this right? I am totally up for it, just checked, for some reason i thought I have already done this, but alas it was not filled out. Gonna fill it out shortly. If I have no use for my organs anymore, why can't someone else use em
Not a chance in hell - I'm taking my organs with me and letting the maggots feast on them.
And for those who'll say - but what if you need an organ transplant one day - there's enough suckers out there who will donate that I'm not worried.
