Default Who's NOT doing anything for valentines?

Just curious as to how many people (forced, or willingly) take part in this day.

What is it with Valentines day?

I for one, don't do anything special on Valentines day, and my GF has accepted it.

If a big fuss is made over it, well the relationship must be carefully looked at as a long term endeavor.

    Discuss.

But I gave her a nights stay in a nice hotel, plus a very nice dinner at Mongolie Grill, plus a huge Sunday brunch buffet...I'm hoping that lets me off the hook.
Can't stand the commercialism of Valentines.

I've been going on dates with one chick for awhile but didn't want to do anything with her for Valentines so I haven't really talked to her for a couple weeks.

There's been another girl I've been talking to in the mean time but we've only gone on a couple dates so I didn't ask her if she wanted to do anything etc, I don't know if I'll even say happy v-day or anything.

I was going to start a thread about this actually, because I've only been talking to her for the past week, though I originally met her about 3 and a half years ago, it's kind of a weird point where I don't know what to do about v-day so I've just ignored it all together haha. Kinda think vday is for couples so...

She probably thinks I'm a dick

Whatever though, I have an exam tomorrow and this week is stupid busy.

What do you do when you've just met someone a week or so before vday?

I went to the gym and im gonna play COD later

Not seeing anyone right now so dont care much for this day.

I did take the ex out for dinner and buy her flowers though last year. Girls like that, its a simple thing to do which makes them happy. I see nothing wrong with it.. Buying expensive gifts on the other hand is stupid IMO

Nothing wrong with that at all, but why does it have to be on Valentines day? Why not any other tuesday..

Better yet, if you DID take her our lets say last tuesday, if she EXPECTS something for Valentines day and makes a fuss, well then that's trouble.

Although I don't buy into the whole wooing your woman for a day with store bought garbage and neither does my gf we still "celebrate" it. When you and your gf have been together for a significant amount of time, live together, have full time jobs that require overtime and sometimes have to work weekends. Having nights where you can come up with a good excuse to have a night out alone together are few and far between.

See this is what I'm saying.

Pick a Random day of the week and TREAT it as if you have something to celebrate. The whole Valentines is mind boggling.

Actually to be quite honest who puts these ideas into Womens heads?

I didn't know this, but apparently women now expect One year anniversary bands, Pushing presents, and for fuck sakes a new 10 year Engagement ring.

    this is fucked up!

I'm about to stick my neck out here, but a couple of weeks ago I saw varieties of some cute little stuffed animals at the dollar store. I bought 5 different ones, and placed them in somewhat hidden locations around the house. For example, she came home from work, opened the fridge, and found this staring at her:

She was even more elated to find the other ones.

Valentines day? Hah, she would rightfully slap me if I bowed down to such Hallmark nonsense. Then I would slap myself.
