Are you buying the ipad 3?

for someone thats never had an ipad...would it be better to get the 3? or save the 100 bucks and get the 2? thoughts?

Take a look at the two screens in person, then decide if you can live with the lower res display.

Also remember that with the 2 you're most likely getting a year less of software updates than the 3.

Picked mine up today after comparing them in person. The high res 'new' iPad display is gorgeous. It won't blow u away at first but text is where it really shines. If you're gonna be using it as any kinda reader web or otherwise then it's a no brainer. Extra hundred bucks on something you'll likely be looking at everyday for the next 2 or 3 years is well worth the price.

Just curious, how can one make full use of the Retina display? Are there any sites which stream in such high resolution?

I am thinking of getting one as a consumption device, but can't really see how the retina display would benefit me at the moment? Would love to hear some long term feedback from ipad 3 owners.

Web stuff doesn't take full advantage of the retina, but a lot of apps do. Anything with text looks awesome.
