Most certainly Rage. The 22mp sensor was chosen with video in mind. Canon has already admitted that much.

Not much different from the 5D Mark II? Of course not because the resolution is only 22mp.

Lets foget the fact it has an AF system that is going to be superb while shooting at 7 FPS.

It's ironic. I told people about this exact camera a few months ago and none believed me. There was a SI photog at the saddledome that was shooting with one.

The camera is basically setup to be one of the most versatile cameras on the market.

22mp with 1-2 stops ISO improvement on the 5D Mark II. A full pro AF. A camera that shoots reasonably fast at 7 FPS and they even managed to give us dual cards.

It will be the #1 seller in it's category.

The new flagship flash should be announced with the new 5D.

It's dual cards, that's all that matters. It's not hard to choose. One hell of a versatile camera. Fast enough for sports. Vastly better AF system. Good resolution. Improved ISO capabilities. It's what most photographers in both Nikon and Canon have been asking for.

pretty awesome if true. I would happily ditch the 1Ds line if this camera is for real! Everything I wanted in a camera... dual cards, fast (without the grip nonsense of the D700), small body, and pro af. Everything I want! I hope it lives up to it's rumours.

I also heard a rumour that the new canon speedlite will have a built in radio slave.

Awesome news for Canon folk if it lives up to the rumors. They've been wanting something like this for quite some time.

Any word on if it has 1 series level weather sealing? Or AF at F8? I know that would be a deal breaker for some if it didn't.

As for dual cards being the same or not, who cares, they are so cheap it doesn't really matter (IMO of course). It's a pretty small investment considering the price of the camera unless you need a whole ton of them.

If this has 1D af, 1D sealing, and all the rest of the specs are true, I think it'll cannibalize a lot of 1 series sales. Good news for consumers though.

No chance it will kill 1D sales. Sports photogs will eat that 1Dx up. If you get a chance to try the 14 FPS out and see how clean the images are that camera is a world better than the 5D Mark III.

However many are using the 5D mark II doing just fine so the 5D Mark III will make it even better.

I think the weather sealing will be similar to what we've seen in the 7D which would be a drastically improved AF.

It's a lot to be excited about. It's the idea camera for most photographers out there.

I think they've already stated the F8 focus will be addressed with a firmware update.

A bigger question is just how low the 5D mark II market will go. I wouldn't mind picking one up as a backup and second body for the right price.

Would this prompt 5DMKII owners to upgrade? And if so, how much should a used one sell for?

I don't think we'll see the price of 5D Mark II body's go that far. You will certainly see them in the $1400 to $1500 range since this camera will be in the $3299 to $3499 range.

$1400 to $1500 for a 5D Mark II is a smoking good price.

I just want it to be lower so I can pay less. Would be a nice upgrade from the 5D.

Wow and the 1DX is jumping in price... Everyone is going to go 5D3 now lol

Sounds like Canon isn't fucking up for once! lol

I could see this out selling Nikon's D800 for sure.

Nah Call CPS up. The 1Dx will be hard to come by even for high ranking CPS members. It shoots and focuses and an insanely unrealistic rate. I for one thought the 14 FPS couldn't possibly keep up to fast moving subjects but I was very wrong.

They have geared the 1Dx primarily to sports photographers.

They have geared the 5D Mark III to be the best camera for portrait photographers as it will be the most versatile.

Sure the D800 has more resolution but it's a lot slower and the ISO capabilities won't be as good.

Not to mention somehow that 5D now has a better focus system.

It is quite realistically the perfect camera for wedding photographers which is a huge market segment.

I don't deny the resolution of the D800 would be extremely nice to have but the flexibility offered by the 5D Mark III is very impressive and it will sell more than the D800.

It won't hurt the 1Dx sales that much as that is really the 1D Mark IV replacement aimed mainly at sports photogs.

My big question now is the camera to be announced in November of this year. Which I believe will be named the 1Dxs. A 48mp 1Ds Mark III replacement.

    Looks great!

Man I wonder how many 1DX pre-orders are going to be cancelled tomorrow.
