Shaw: moving, new customer promos?

I am switching apartments at the end of this month. I currently have Shaw service.

Would setting up a new account, as opposed to moving services, give me, say, 6 month promos on services? Trying to make the best of this situation.

What promos does shaw have now?

what kind of services do you currently have? theres a couple promo bundles, but you have to either add on or upgrade.. most prices arent too bad though. And most shaw staff try to help out... most.. lol

as for opening a new account RedDX is right you gotta close your acct for 6 months before you can have a new one.

I just got off my 6 month internet promo, called in and they were able to give me their latest promo again. See if you can get them to discount you and move your account at the same time. I had to talk to about 3 people through their web chat.

Dec10: Signed up for 1yr promo of TV+Internet+Phone for $80/m
Dec11: Called to cancel everything but Internet, had Internet for $60/m
Jan12: They called me to offer a trial of their 50mbps internet for an additional $5/m, so $65/m for 6mo, I take it.
Feb12: They called me to offer a trial of cable + 50mbps internet for $39/m all-in for 6 month I don't know why they did that

shaw is such a fail... they call me at home the other day.. on my shaw house phone.

shaw guy: "hi this is butt fuck from shaw, i've been instructed by the higher ups to offer you this promotion since you are our #$1 best customer in canada and always pay your bill on time. I would like to offer you shaw home phone for $5/mo for 3 months. you will find our features much better than your telus service"

Me: "awesome that sounds great i would love the home phone service for $5/mo. But i don't have telus, you just called me on my shaw home phone."

Shaw guy: "are you sure?"..."click"

I'm assuming you're referring to some sales incentive but I haven't heard of any Vegas trip, that would be sweet though!

But I'm not in the Sales team nor do I qualify for any cool incentives, unfortunately haha. I've offered help to many Beyonders - just trying to help out the community however I can

Oh nice, yeah usually those incentives are only for customer-facing staff (i.e. call centre folks). I'm in our corporate office downtown but I'd kill to go to Vegas and catch UFC live!

If your GF is part of this, I should be sending any customer sales to her! (Could be I already know her )

Shaw = the suck, been trying to get service at my new place and keep getting the run around, they told me I would get everything resolved by today and get a call from the Supervisor etc as to what's been going on but low and behold nothing has been done

Yeah I'm getting Telus too, cheaper price, a free Galaxy tablet and no equipment charges for 3 years.

Edit: and so far amazing service, registered online and got a call back to confirm everything (which saved me money) in 10 minutes.
