    Default Looking for humidor

My coworker just got back from Cuba and she brought me back my order of cigars. 15 Cohibas. I need a humidor now to keep them fresh. Anybody have any good suggestions on where I can get a relatively inexpensive humidor? Last summer I made my own out of tupperware and a moist paper towel and it just didn't work well. I dont want to ruin the cigars before summer even gets here to smoke them. Thanks.

Uhh...just go to any cigar shop and pick one out. Hundreds of styles and prices to choose from. Around $79 bucks up to several hundred...what ever suits yer fancy.

I suggest buying storage lockers at auction till you get one with a humidor amongst the contents. You can profit off the rest of the stuff in the marketplace here, just mark it up for lowballers. It's a win/win.

you could just freeze your cigars in the freezer or deep freeze. just make sure when you take them out you let them warm up gradually

I went to Cuba in december and brought back a box of Behike 52's and a box of 1966 Special Editions. Yumm. (not for sale).

I say go to a cigar shop and buy one, it doesnt have to be fancy.

Just buy a large snap snap container, get some old cigar boxes at a shop for like $5 with a digital hygrometer for $17 and some NON-scented silica kitty litter pour into a dish and spritz with distilled water. In the mean time put your cigars in a ziploc bag place in fridge so they slowly get cold for a day then freeze until your setup is ready then reverse process so they slowly warm up.

Table humidors are to much money and don't hold their seal very well.

This was my firs setup but it grew......

    this

    and this

Don't freeze your cigars or put them in the fridge. That's the worst thing you can do to them.

What happens to meat when it's in the freezer too long? Freezer burn. What causes freezer burn? Dehydration. There is virtually no relative humidity in your freezer.

Yes Cubans do freeze cigars but this is a short term process and is done to kill the tobacco beetle eggs.

    +1 for not freezing.

Also, I was told that in Cuba all the legit cigars are sold in gov. run shops, so if she didn't buy them at a government store they will be 100% fake. And some of the more ghetto knock off put in newspaper as filler

My buddy came back with Cohiba's, he said he bought them for 150 bucks .....doubtful

Thats why I said use freezer bags.... It will buy him enough time to decide what he Thats is going to do. Lots of guys on puff.com have froze cigars for short terms without issues. It's better than leaving them at room temp with calgary 30-40 RH which will which will dry them out far quicker and crack the outer case.

Hey guys.. I have a question about cigars here in Calgary... I read something somewhere how some cigar shops have paid memberships where they have their own club lounge or something to smoke cigars... Anybody have experience with one? If so, do you know the price? Thanks
