Apparantly the earth is receiving a solar storm, heres a link with some details. I guess we should all prep cameras for an amazing light show.

Where would be a good place to watch this?
I'm thinking somewhere outside of the city, but with a nice view of the skyline.
Thoughts anyone?
I'm amused by the simplicity of this game. Bring me your finest meats and cheeses.
Wasn't there one of these a few weeks ago as well?

Get 10km outside the city and you're pretty much golden...
Looks pretty good for visibility though

I don't know. Almost every single night the past month I've seen aurora shining bright through my living room window between 11-3 every night. With the amount of northern lights showing lately I can expect tonight to be a superb show, and I will be travelling outside of the town to try to capture it.
Davex - got a good spot?
I'd love to shoot some timelapse of this

It's looking like around 10pm.
I'm going to try and stay in the city and see if I can't use the skyline at the background.

I was able to see northern lights pretty well last night from Weaselhead (or whatever that parking lot at the end of 90th ave is), at glenmore resevoir.

You guys get anything last night?
I went out there around the city looking for them but nothing at Centre Street and nothing at Glenmore Reservoir neither around 10-11:30PM.
Someday we may need to activate the halo structure off Deerfoot and destroy the North East.
I was out north by Symmon's Valley from 10-10:40 and didn't see anything. Jupiter was super bright though.

Apparently they should be pretty visible tonight. Fingers crossed!
What kind of birdhouse can you build with popsicles, roofies, and a rubber mallet?

If you were straight I'd eat you like a BLT sandwich with extra Bacon. And I fucking LOVE bacon.

Aurora watch is for deadmonton region.
It's definitely no show till later night. I'm just gonna set my alarm to wake me up at midnight then I'll check again.
There were heavy northern lights on Tuesday night, 10:30pm. Was east of the city watching them. Supposed to be back again tonight.
