kick it on ei for a bit hang out with friends because they are the ones who are going to hook you up. its not what you know its who you know. if its seasonal just wait to get called back and take a vacation.

yea, I will apply for EI but would really prefer a higher income. Plus, I just can't sit around doing nothing.. I've almost ALWAYS had a job since I was 14.

As far as going back, I don't exactly want to return there, as the new managers decisions are highly questionable.

well if thats the case then apply soon because you may be rejected if you wait to long( i think one month after is the cut off) and if your last job paid you vacation pay then you may have to wait even longer before you get paid.

and you're not sitting around doing nothing you're looking for a job.

PM me your work experience & what you're good at. I know of a bunch of places hiring. It wont be automotive though, but if you're good at "light mechanical" then that should work.

Drop resumes off at places. don't reply to ads on kijiji, waste of time.

I have so many friends who are all "I can't find a job, there are none"

I've had 6~ jobs in the last year and a half, all industries accross the spectrum, no experience usually in that field. I quit because it wasn't the work for me.

But it's really easy to find a job if you go out and try.

    http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/intro-eng.aspx

Tons of results on this site, just search generic terms ("Labour" give 51 hits)

Polish up your resume+coverletter though, if you dont get any calls its most likely because your resume is bunk.
