I dunno what's up with Red Bull. On one hand I think they're sandbagging and going to rape everyone in Q3. On the other hand, that's what I thought about McLaren in 2009, but turns out they got it all wrong. We'll see in a few hrs!

I thought I heard Steve Matchett (sp?) during P2 mention something about the Renault-powered cars being somewhat disadvantaged now by the loss of the exhaust-blown diffusers this year, which they were so reliant on last year.Originally posted by rage2

Or did I get that all wrong?
If you look at Silverstone 2011, where off throttle blowing was banned, it didn't affect Red Bull much, and totally killed McLaren. I don't think RBR was that dependant on the blown diffuser...
RBR is still doing something off throttle. Their car sounds completely different off throttle than any other car. Not sure how they get away with it since the rules have been much more strict now.

RBR finally turned it up. There's almost no time between them and McLaren, maybe 0.1s slower than McLaren on prime tires.
Ferrari is in trouble, they need options to match RBR and McLaren on primes. They've stopped their prime tire program, fully on the options now.
Mercedes looking damn good too. Looks even with RBR on primes, and a tad slower than McLaren on options.
Still waiting for RBR to do a soft tire run.
edit - guess that's not happening. Vettel pushes too hard, goes off.

Jesus Christ the BBC coverage sucks ass this year. So obvious the budget has been cut; sounds like they are using one mic, no in car sound...fuuuck . I was hoping TSN would pay up for the ITV feed.
Edit: I now blame TSN. No radio transmissions? wtf? Where is the global feed sound?

2, In the steward's box
3, In Paris
Haha Alonso > Massa. Hell, he doesn't even need to finish his qualifying to beat Massa...
Go MSC!!!

Pretty sure what we're seeing on TSN is Sky Sports who just took over for BBC this year. On top of that, FOM is using a bunch of new cameras and new technologies. There will be bugs.Originally posted by vadeit

I also thought ITV didn't do F1 coverage anymore.
I wouldn't be upset if the rest of the season went as splendidly as qualifying did. My god. Massa fails, Alonso gets angry, McLarens locks out, HRT misses 107%... *tear* It's glorious.
Coulthard is on BBC. TSN carried the BBC feed last night.
Sky has Brundle, and someone that has no clue WTF is going on, where Brundle corrects him. And the pit reporters are damn hot on Sky haha.

Lotus and Red Bull are considering a protest over Mercedes' DRS-activated F-duct, but McLaren is looking to copy it. Well it wouldn't be F1 without a controversy...
Disappointed in Kimi's qualifying, but we now get to see him making his way up the field during the race. He just need to stay clean at Turn 1 at the start.
Are the pit reporters the ones in the ads for Sky F1? I thought those were just women paid to be hot. Holy shit.Originally posted by rage2

Yeah, but are they actually going to ENFORCE that this year? I could've sworn there were at least a couple races last year where by my math HRT didn't make it, and yet there they were on the starting grid on sunday.Originally posted by Mibz
HRT misses 107%...
I'm not running the F1 Pool this season (at least not for money) as I joined the Planet F1 Fantasy League instead, but if anyone wants to make picks, you can re-use last years Sub-league (Beyond.ca F1) on F1toto.com..
I think I am going to make some picks and just see how I stack up against the rest of the website.
Qualifying was Awesome last night! So excited for tonight.
