I really don't understand what the outrage is all about. Quebecers complaining clearly haven't seen what really happens at slaughterhouses - let's just say the treatment of animals isn't exactly humane. You don't have to look much further than the related videos on youtube from the ones posted above.

Just found out what Halal is

When an animal is slaughtered, the jugular vein is cut and the blood is allowed to drain from the animal. Remember, Muslims are prohibited from consuming animal blood.
