So long story short I bought this Type R of who many of you will know as Dal. I have now owned this car since June 2011, and well lots has happened to the car since.. but I will start this thread fresh starting with when I torn it down..

Oct 2011 it was a complete teardown and rebuilding this car with what I want and with my standards, no more short cuts.

This is how it looked when I drove it home for the first time

This is how it looked going into winter

    Winter teardown

UPDATES ON LAST PAGE USUALLY - APRIL 19th, 2012

just thought I'd give you guys a comparison shot of my OEM K20 Harness beside the new Rywire K20 Mil Spec Harness

Thought I'd post some updates on the motor itself..

Nothing special going on, but started to pull some stuff off such as the powersteering pump, alternator, waterpump, coolant housings, PRC manifold, TB, etc... have LOTS of cleaning to do.. and gotta start figuring out a list of parts to order.

I went to Wekfest SF in Feb to meet up with cousin Anh his crew ATS Garage and meet Ryan@Rywire, John@1033mm, Matt@ICB, Projectonethirty and E90post Members that I have become friends with when I was in the E92 game.

Got there just in time for roll in!

BACK HOME with motivation and inspiration from wekfest!

Well I am back from Wekfest SF and boy was it a experience! Coming from where I am from I have never seen a event soo big for a car show!

It was nice meeting all you guys (You know who you are!) and I have gotten much motivation to get going and finishing my build so I can enjoy my car this summer instead of always fixing and changing things throughout the summer!

So to start on the latest update,

I called Rywire and David got me my Brake Line Tuck Kit sent out to me before I left for SF and seeing them in person I am just excited to have gone through with tucking my brake lines and already imagining the clean firewall!

I also contacted Frank at Downstarinc and got all my chassis, Engine and Tranny Bolts ordered up just so I can pick them up from him at Wekfest which worked out nicely!

Less then 12 hours later of being back home I got a phone call from the body shop saying they just got my car painted and that I should come down and check how things turned out. I was super happy with the job then done!

    Here are some pics!

I am currently waiting for all my OEM parts to get here for refreshing the motor such as seals, gaskets, timing chains, guides, tensioners, RBC manifold, etc. and hopefully the motor will be in the car in no time!

    She is home:

THANKS TO DOWNSTARINC for supply me with my bolts and washers!

So I am waiting for parts to arrive for the motor and such so for the time being I thought I test fit the Backyard Special Bumper and Install my Black Interior

The black headliner I got a professional to wrap the headliner with a black material used in BMW's. and then I scotched padded, primed and painted the plastic pillars and small pieces all semi-gloss black so it looks "OEM black plastic"

soo got my some of my goodies from Mike@K-Tuned!

    K-Tuned Billet TPS Version 2
    K-Tuned Billet RBC TB Adapter
K-Tuned Upper Coolant Housing with Filler Cap & -16AN Fitting
K-Tuned Lower Swivel Coolant Housing with -16AN fitting
K-Tuned Billet Throttle Cable Bracket with K series DC2 length cable
    K-Tuned Coolant Recirculation Hose

Other things I've done was I got all the seals, chain, guides, tensioner and some of the gaskets.

I had my valve cover powder coated Project Mu Teal as well as my Circuit Hero K-swap intake pipe. Also had -10AN bungs welded to the back of the valve cover for my oil catch set up.

The motor and transmission has been dressed up in hardware by Frank@Downstarinc!

Well here are how things are looking for now! still some things to change such as the coil cover, and the valve cover hardware.

As you can see in the following photo there is a big difference from the OEM 62mm bore of the manifold opening to the 74mm Bore of the Skunk2 TB. Can't wait to get it back all port matched =P

Project Mu Teal Valve cover and Intake Pipe

    Time to drop it in!

Got Trillion Industries to Port my RBC manifold and K-Tuned Adapter.

    OEM RBC Bore is 62mm, and I had a 74mm Skunk2 TB and the K-Tuned RBC/RRC TB adapter was a 70mm bore...

So I had Derek@Trillion Bored my RBC to 70mm since thats the biggest that you should be going before you get to close to the IACV port. Then he taper bored the K-Tuned Plate from 70mm to 74mm to port match the Skunk2 TB!

as of right now motor and everything has been taking out again as I decided that the subframe was gross... and i sent that to powder coating as well! along with some other things.

And now you guys after scrolling through everything are caught up with how things stand as of March 27th, 2012

With that said here are some quick shots of the Circuit Hero / ASC metal shop Custom 3-Point Strut Bar for DC2, these are veryyyy limited and I am the first in Canada to have one of these done for me! Thanks Gil!

It is currently raw in these photos so you can see all the welds and such, but it is currently at Calgary Powder Coatings also with the other parts I am getting coated

    'Mil-spec harness and plug plate'

in aviation this is s.o.p, we use plastic/metal cannon plugs through bulkheads (firewall in your case) always, very smart of you sir.

all cars should have this if you rip apart your engine frequently, takes 3 seconds to disconnect.

That's ridiculous the amount of time, patience, hard work and $$$. I have no idea. Mad respect though.
