So was noticing in the An eagle, a cat, and a fox just chillin' thread, some mention of oddball pet names, namely Suitcase, Spaghetti and Ruffles. Ruffles I can understand, but the other two are rather odd - for the most part, people do give cutesy names to their pets, see it every day in our shop as people bring their dogs and cats in for baths/grooming.
Looking through our records, I would say that probably 95% of the pet owners that shop in our store have contrived/cutesy names for their pets - some of the best include Rhubarb and Cujo (a small Springer Spaniel who is so nice). Us, we have two male cats with relatively normal human names (Larry and Daryl) and a guinea pig named Spud, Spud has a contrived name because he looks like a huge baked potato. Even the varying hare who regularly visits our backyard has a name - Jim.
In closing, what would be the most amusing/strange name someone's heard of for a pet - Suitcase would rate right up there for me.
