    Update:
Well ive been dreading updating my thread because so much has happned.... Well when I got back from school I had told my body guy that I needed the car and I was going to schedule a pick up. I went to his shop and no one was there... civic no where in sight.... call after call after call, nothing... My car and body guy where no where to be found, I got the police involved. fast forward a week this is how I received my vehicle back... this is very embarrassing for me to post but as they say, the show must go on...

As you can see just the biggest hack job has been done to my fenders, no welding what so ever just cuts and bondo...

yup that's my roll cage that can be seen through massive cuts through my rear quarter panels. this genius managed to cut the major supports that run from the roof (c-pillar) to the quarter panel it self..... sigh, ohhhh but theres more

I have no idea what he did but he managed to pull my rad support completely off the vehicle and tied it up with some wire. And to make it all worse he DAMAGED MY WHEEL!!! So after coming back from school, expecting a civic fully painted and wide body I come back to this... I was so devastated, I considered selling everything off and moving on with my life. But from the ashes rises a phoenix. I receive a phone call from a good friend stating he has found me the perfect chassis and I had to buy it. I head over almost immediately to find this gem

A 1996 hatch from California! this car is immaculate!!! it even had the owners manual in it lol. the car has original undercoating, no rust what so ever, even the original windshield! I had my work cut out for me this weekend

I started out by salvaging what I could from the old chassis

took it to my work the next day to prepare for a weekend of sleepless nights

this time around I want to do everything I wanted to with the last chassis.

    Day 3:

the only visible rust I have found so far

    Day 4:

I also managed to pick up another seat, a Kevlar Vision technical seat. It fits me so well

And last but not least my exhaust, I have something very special planned for my exhaust setup so stay tuned for that

Such an interesting piece, titanium tip and Carbon fiber canister. That's all for now, off to the welder for another cage to be made, going 6 point this time.

Wow, sorry to see what happened to your first chassis but it looks like you're going to do it even bigger and better this time!!

    Props!

^ yeah, that is crazy so what happens with the autobody guy, you've used him before but this time he was drunk or something?

The new chassis looks pretty damned good for a 96, granted it spent its life in California, that's always a plus.

Just curious how you're applying the POR-15. I have a can waiting for me and a 1980 Corolla.

    Cheers,

Guglianoh, the situation with that red car was a kick in the junk to be sure. Big props for your resolve and good luck with the new chassis.

My god, the red shell looks beyond amature hour. Sorry to even see that, it's disgusting.

So far the new chassis looks great.

+1 on how are you applying that rust protection stuff? Considering it for some of my control arms. Rust inhib regular spray paint, I can see won't last. Even if I wire wheeled off all the old rust and paint.

the instructions say just to apply it directly onto rust, but that's not how I roll lol I grinded the rust away first, scuffed up the surface, then applied with a foam brush. I used three coats, the says minimum two coats, which take 2-6 hours to cure.

This weekend I stripped the interior, shes ready for a cage.... again

I found this in my car, I did a quick polish on it. I think im going to finish it off and keep it

I also started my brake line tuck

Now the the two line that come from the rear calipers that I need to cut and flare for the bulk head connectors I am confused on which flare I need. I was told that I need an AN flare tool which is an irregular 37 degree flare.... does anyone have experience with AN brake line bulk head connectors? any help will help thanks!

Got some more work done this weekend. Started test fitting my intercooler. I am not impressed at all by this kit. As expensive as it was i imagined it would be more "bolt on" than it is, but i guess i can do it how i want now.

as you can see, this kit was obviously made for optimum performance, not optimum fitment (enter sarcastic emoticon). I dont like how most people remove the front rebar to fit intercoolers, i am going to modify mine to fit

    let the trimming begin

As you can see i cut the middle section out of the rebar and the locating sides so i can still be bolts to the car. ill be getting plates welded to the open sections of the two ends, then connect them with some bar. then ill need to fabricate some brackets to connect to the intercooler tabs and it will be good to go!

I install my carbon fiber type R spoiler

i picked up a carbon fiber hood, trimmed my front bumper for the intercooler. once everything is fabricated and bolted down ill be making some aluminium ducting for the intercooler and rad. i also test fit my J's racing fenders and this is how she sits. pretty dam sexy if you ask me more to come

    Back from the dead!!
its been a long time since my last update.... too long. lots has changed, i have tons of pictures so bare with me
i finally finished my brake line tuck

Picked up a set of extrended wheel studs, only front for now, rear wheel bearings are only sold as a whole hub no seperate bearing...

    finished my rebar

Ive given up on all possiblity of body work this year which lead to this...

    New vs old

this has been a long time coming

Found this at a local junk yard, i bought some titanium sheet that ill be using to make a block off plate which will house my gauges

    mounted my shift linkage

started designing my intercooler brackets. most people hang the intercooler off the rad support, i dont really like that so i went for something more rigid

i also dimple died my rad support, wasnt expecting how much stiffer it would make it

    How she sits now

next ill be starting to design my air box and finalizing my intercooler piping fitment/installing my boost clamps. trying to get she running before the snow hits the ground... stay tuned!
