While we're ignoring the OP's request for self-catering locations. Heritage park is excellent, and like several places mentioned, they will take care of everything.

Nonsense. You've all got slanty eyes, play Starcraft, speak Chinese and eat nothing but sushi and ginger beef.
DON'T TRY AND CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE
we used the crestmont community centre. brought our own caterers and bought our own booze.
great experience, decent venue for about 100.
This is actually number one on my list right now, and my parents are checking it out for me this week. I don't live in Calgary, so have to get them to do the leg work for me. But I appreciate all the suggestions, I have a huge list to go from now.Originally posted by prae

Life is a Gamble.
I was just at this hall for a kids birthday party and it was a new and modern looking place(community hall wise) but the layout wouldn't be ideal for a wedding. Its long and skinny which gives it a very cramped feel if you have a lot of people, the party had about 100 guests and it was very tight going back and forth to the buffet tables.Originally posted by Cos

Edgemont community hall is pretty nice too and they allow you to self cater and byob. I had a baby shower here in december and it was more than enough space for 150 people and with a little decorating it looked not bad. I think the hall was $500

LOL, $95 for two sounds pretty damn cheap to me. Is this not including any drinks or something?
Are you guys all students on a budget or something?
My lunch tab is that much for two people.
Try Dewinton Community Hall, its 10 mins south of Calgary. Nice place for a reception and ceremony.
