    Default V8 into an S14?

    Just wondering if anyone in calgary has this done yet? and if they would have any general knoweldge on the matter. I was at Long Beach for Formula D Round 1 this past weekend and it seems the V8's (and daigo's 1200HP JZ) were throwing down the most smoke (I was sitting between turb 1 and turn 2).

    Philosophy of use for the V8 (likely LS1) in my S14 would be summer car / drft slut.

    Also I would like a test ride in your V8 S-Chassis if possible just to experience it before making my final decision :p

    (p.s. Yes I know it's sacrilege to swap a V8 in a S-Chassis, im just looking for alot of Reliable torque at low RPM that doesn't revolve around tuning/boost/all that crap. So save the hate and waste your time else where)

    chris gonzo out in manitoba is the only s14 that comes to mind, the ab builds all seem to be 4-door toyotas

    There is a 1uz s13 build on driftwest. It is in the process of being poopercharged right now as well.

    he did the 1uz. its in a s13 though.

    YEA 1UZ FTW !!

    It is by far the most reliable engine i have had in any of my cars. 450,000 on the engine and still pulls like a mother

    Works wonders but your N/A limit on them is 450hp and 700 ft/lb and with boost anything over 1000 is possible.

    The supercharger was sold and something else was acquired that is more fun and is more reliable and i can stay N/A, Currently making 300hp and 310 ft-lb

    If i were you i would stay with a JDM engine and go with any of these:

    1uz-fe VVTI or 3uz-fe VVTI

    VH45 only if you want it sticking through your hood as they are really tall engines

    1GZ-FE = V12 Awesomeness

    Hmm so now knowing all this lol.. Time to pic a motor...

    Are all the S-Chassis roughly the same? If alex can fit a 1UZ in a S13 then I should have no real issues putting an LS1/LS3 in my S14..

    you LHD or RHD? this will be a large factor...

    Why are you bailing on your tomei setup already? No lower rpm torque (for some reason, as you should have lots with that turbo)? Did Tomei get back to Tanner yet?

    Score an LS6 or LS2/3... and you are set.

    There simply is no better way.

    The only issue is the oil system. If you like going sideways lots (which you obviously do), I suggest a dry sump system for these engines. You'll have a bit of room to mount the tank in the engine bay or in the footwell of the passenger side.

    Something similar (link is old). Occasionally a few pop up in Canada. You'd have access to quite a few parts that you would probably have to buy anyways. As a bonus... you get a corvette rear end/ transaxle.

    I do believe the sikky mount kit comes with a baffled oil pan. The kit was made for drifters so should address the oil issues. It's also larger capacity

    Honestly, anything other than an LSx seems pretty dumb.

    Reasoning is simple. You wont be satisfied with any stock V8 for long, with most of them (stock), you will have less rwhp than a typical "mild" SR/KA, and parts availability and cost is unmatched for the 'ole Chevy that has been in every chev truck since 1997 lol, TON of aftermarket support. You can shop at almost any speedshop, and the parts would probably be in stock lol!

    I'm using the aluminum 5.3 LS for my kit car. Light weight, and enough meat on the cylinders to bore all the way to 5.7 in case you ever want a few rebuilds.
