Writing a u-turn ticket is a waste of time, not to mention the wasted resources of 9 assholes just to bring someone in for a $115 ticket lol...

This must be the only place in the world where you cant do a fucking u turn.

    fucking useless newbie douchebags. STFU.

Traffic cops are nothing but a waste of time, They may as well do something for their bloated paycheck.

Actually there's plenty of situations where it is perfectly legal to make a u-turn in Alberta...here are the rules pertaining to it from the alberta driver's handbook...

    • Do not make a U-turn unless you can do it safely and without interfering
    with other traffic.
    • Outside urban areas U-turns are not permitted on a curve or near the
crest of a hill where the driver of another vehicle cannot see your vehicle.
U-turns are not permitted in urban areas in the following situations:
    • On a roadway between intersections.
    • Where a sign prohibits making a U-turn.
    • At an intersection controlled by a traffic-control signal (traffic lights).
    • At an alley intersection.

but yes Toma, we get it, you don't like our laws, or anyone elses laws, or any laws...

Not really though, think about it, if the person didn't see the cop he obviously wasn't paying enough attention. I can't count the number of times I've had someone whip a U-turn right in front of me without checking properly to make sure the coast is clear. I guess we could give the person the benifit of the doubt and assume no cars were around and they did it in front of a Tim hortons where there just happen to be a cop who dropped his drink to run out and ticket the person but I think not

^It was my fault for not paying the ticket. It was a bullshit ticket in the first place, got it at 3am when the roads were empty, and there wasn't a sign that specified no U-Turn.

But it's a $115 ticket..... seriously 9 police officers to arrest me for a warrant on that? It cost them more than $115 to arrest me and take me in.

I got arrested a few months back for a U-turn ticket that I forgot to pay. I was sitting in the car waiting for my speeding ticket, when I see another cop car show up, then another, then another.... 9 of these assholes walked over to my car to arrest me, like wtf

Got to sit in a holding cell and watch homeless guys eat cheese sandwiches. Took those idiots 4 hours to process my $115 payment.

it's 3am, what else they going to do with their time...and you're not exactly a little fella if you are who I think you are

I got pulled over in my old RHD RX7 way back and it was a 4 police car ordeal as well. They thought the car was stolen because the plate was still registered to my old car...it was pretty hillarious though, female officer comes up to the window and asks me where the driver went...I point at the steering wheel and she goes "he ran that way?"

I was like "no, the steering wheel is over here dear." her partner on the other side of the car laughed at her (it was back before every 16 year old kid had a RHD car)...they let me go with a warning about the registration, I think mostly because the girl was embarassed about not noticing the steering wheel.

Same thing happened in Vancouver, but there I had a model sitting in the passenger seat, so I couldn't blame the officer for spending 20 minutes chatting her up before realizing when I handed him my drivers license that I was the one driving.

Yeah, and you wanna know something stupid???

They do not pursue stolen vehicles, especially trucks....
Drivers license enslaves you, being a criminal frees you.

Ha, if anything drug dealers drive low key shit, less heat.

And it's probably because you're white lol. I always get the shit end of the stick when it comes to the law, doesn't matter if I didn't do anything wrong.

According to Justgo's post on the U-turn law, they are permitted if you can do it safely without interfering with other traffic, not "no u-turns if there is an officer near by...

The bike..er shopping cart ticket is ridiculous! What a waste of everybody's time.

Did he check that your bell was in working order too??

As for U-turns. Last spring I watched a woman driving a minivan pull a u-turn right in front of me while I was running. She was T-boned by a Dodge truck and the minivan rolled on it's side. There were 3 kids in the van.I helped pull the kids out of the van. U-turns are fine if you do them safely. Unfortunately a great many drivers do not.

in a city where drivers can't make left turns safely how would you expect them to make uturns safely? that's like...two left turns.

It’s the Gestapo coming at you for leaning your bike against the wall and having an unpaid fine for sitting on your bike waiting for the c-train. Don’t fuck with Hitler
