Whats everyone opinion on brackets vs pad for their recent AC installs? I would prefer a foundation bracket for a cleaner install but want to know if the bracket will transmit vibrations into the house?
Mine are on brackets and didn’t notice any extra noise/vibrations personally. Even when I’m in my office which is directly inside the wall where it’s mounted I don’t notice anything.

Got an installed lined up for May 7th through Horizon Heating.
Unit is the Carrier Performance 14, this is the slim unit.
Cost is just over $5300 w/ tax. This includes the cost for them to fix my furnace as I had a cracked exhanger. They didn't provide me a price without the furnace fix excluded. To give you a ball park cost, W&J quoted me an additional $350 + GST to fix my furnace.
Had quotes from W&J, Action Furnace, and Gavin.
W&J came in the lowest at $4410 for the slim unit plus $350 + GST to fix my furnace.
Ended up going with Horizon even though they're more expensive as they were the most thorough when they went through everything with me and they were the ones who found the issue I had on my furnace. Others didn't
This is for a 3 ton unit and includes the electrical permit.
How are you finding the Carrer Performance 14 slim unit after a few months? Is it quiet operation and sufficient airflow for your needs? I am getting the same exact model and in 3 ton by W&J next week. Seemed like a nice option for newer developments with the 4 ft space. Thanks.

Been happy with it so far.
It's quiet and the only time I hear it in the house is when I stand by the opposite wall. Even then the noise is minimal. When I'm in the backyard I don't hear it at all.
Air flow is good. I have my furnace fan on 24/7 so the temperature in the whole house is pretty even.
Tried not running the fan and just played around with the vents but I noticed a considerable difference in temperature between the main floor and 2nd floor.

Very interesting, thanks for the tip on the fan and your feedback. I think for 5db and for compact size it is worth the difference. Is your house on a one-furnace, two-zone setup (i.e. thermostat upstairs and downstairs)?

I was worth it for me as I was able to shove my unit on the slimmer side of the house and still be able to walk around it.
Being quieter is a big bonus.
My house is a single furnace single zone with the thermostat located on the main floor. It's just under 2100 sq. ft. and south facing.
