Eride, did you go inside the hotel?! If not (or you missed it), next time go in for high tea. It's fun being all snooty and the view is spectacular.

Wow Ryan thats sharp! I was looking at the Fuji X1 pro yesterday and it was actually insane sharp as well. It has an apsc with no aa filter, but the af is the worst I have ever seen.
I'm thinking of getting an X100 now since apparently the AF is much much better now

btw anyone else seen the D800E vs Pentax 645D TCS youtube video?
impressive low light shot!
what 50mm were you using? the 1.8 or do you have a 1.4
that shot is one of the reasons why I think I'll be getting a Mark II for now instead of the III
It was so nice for the first half of the day, perfect for a walk.

For some reason all my shots are overexposed from that day.. EV was @ 0 not sure what's going on could be the nikkor 70-300

Or, more likely, it could be because you're metering off a BLACK bear.Originally posted by zarge

Yeah what go4long said. If you used evaluative metering, compensate by ~-0.7 ev or try shadow metering when you have a dark subject. 0 ev in evaluative metering makes the average of the whole scene look like bright day light. With a large dark area like black bear the rest of the scene needs to be extra bright to balance out the average.
Someday we may need to activate the halo structure off Deerfoot and destroy the North East.
looks like the focus is on the bush to the right and not the bear too...
