Holy 35 pages....

Don't want to go through all of it because quite simply it's mindboggling how much crap you can do to these phone that i don't understand. (not tech savvy )

Any tricks to prolonging battery life?!?!

Turn off wifi when not in use. Get juice defender. It toggles a lot of it for you.

They are a bit hungry tho =)

for starters, turn off LTE unless you need download speeds beyond what 4G HSPA+ offers. then learn how to flash custom ROMs since they're more power efficient than the stock Samsung ROM. also play around with apps like Nofrills CPU (if your ROM of choice doesn't feature CPU tweaking), tasker, juice defender ultimate, and titanium backup pro, most of which are paid apps that I highly recommend.

for tasker, create a profile that will switch your network mode to 2G & underclock to around 700 MHz when screen off or when on wifi.

Im getting really pissed at my phone lately. I go to bed with it 100% battery and wake up its at 30%...... I got easy battery saver installed and it use to work good, but now for some reason my battery just gets eaten up. I even turned off my mobile data and still didnt help overnight.

Google Now uses alot of battery from what ive noticed since the new update.. turned mine off virtually useless to me since i did fine without it before

Sounds like the phone never goes to sleep because there's an app keeping it awake. If you can't figure out what it is, such as the battery status of the phone saying the culprit is "Android System" or similarly obscure, buy BetterBatteryStats for $3 and select partial wakelocks, which should identify the culprit.

Running Task's AOKP, my record is 40 hours of battery life (3.5 hours screen on time). I had a lot of battery issues when I was still running TouchWiz based roms.

Yup, look into a new ROM for the device.
I got my S3 back and loaded up this Jedi ROM and holy geez the battery life is great.

I have Jedi Invasion but he has quit supporting S3's as of a week ago.

Still it works very well. Just no new updates.
