I wanna get a bike, and need to get the lisence. Is a course worth it? Or should I go it alone? Anyone have any experience with good places in Cgay?

I went to Too Cool Motorcycle school. Helped a lot and they are a great group of guys. Very good for safety and technique if you are a noob.

Too Cool Motorcycle School is easily the top training program in town. It's not that the others are bad, it's just that TCMS goes the extra step.

    +1.

I drove my bike for 5 years before I went to them to get my license, and was surprised at how much I learned.

Went to too cool here too. Seriously the best. They provide most of the gear and are always safety oriented. I went from not knowing how to operate a motorcycle to going on a 75km road ride around the NW the next day.

Highly recommend Too Cool... took my course from them a long time ago before they started their own company, they were great back then and sounds like they still are (is the same main instructors) plus they have a nice selection of bikes to learn on.

If you're a new rider, a good course like Too Cool is a must!
..but even these courses won't substitute for experience.

I'm of the opinion that at least a few years riding a dirt bike to master the vehicle dynamics is the best first step.

This! They go over the basics and drill them into your head. Saved my ass many times. When it comes to riding motorcycles in this city the more experience the better!

No you don't. You will have to eventually to get your license, but don't need it to take the course.

Also, it's not really a learners per say because your learners was your class 7. What it really is, is a written test (like the class 7 test) that you have to take prior to your road test. Passing this written test does not give you a different class than what you already have.

Too Cool is an awesome school to go to. When I did mine though, we did our on-bike stuff first, then in-class last because they mixed our class with another together for the in-class. That was kinda boring because we had already learned hands on about all the stuff talked about in the on-bike part. But Trevor's teaching method is pretty entertaining and informative. I was also fortunate enough to have him as an instructor when I went out to Race City for Track Days.

Another +1 for too cool, i jut finished the course the other week and havning no knowolodge on a bike before this was great, they realy do teach quite a bit and the road ride at the end is very helpful.

i defintley reccommend taking the course! im booked for my road test on wednesday, not even a week after taking the course. (i got lucky, because i was in the july class, but somebody cancelled so i had the option on moving up to the early may class so im assuming there is qite a bit of wait before getting into the course. But they really ARE worth every penny. GREAT instructors)

    Good luck!

I'm about to go to my 2nd on-bike session at Too Cool and have nothing but good things to say. It's amazing how much you can learn in 9 hours, and the instructors are fantastic.
