I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I heard some of the houses in the Hamptons don't have weeping tile installed. No weeping tile means flooding in the basement.Originally posted by darklord700
What do you guys feel about houses in Hamptons. I like it that their lots are bigger and houses are further apart. However, you can get a better and newer house in say Aspen Woods or Evanston for the same or less money. Just wanted to see what others thing here, thanks.

I've lived in the hamptons for about 22 years now, I enjoy the neighbourhood a lot! Personally I haven't seen much shady shit go down until recently when I got new next door neighbors, son is a nickel n dime drug dealer but the daughter is soo hott
I've been trying to facebook creep her, but their address is not listed in the phone book

Definitely needs an overpass. Anyone remember Crowchild and Shag before the interchange/bridge?Originally posted by benyl
It needs an overpass.
It is just the city being cheap... like the majority of the residents in the hamptons... hahahahaha
14th got an overpass. I'm not sure why money is spent on adding a 3rd lane instead.Originally posted by cream

Although, unlike Crowchild, I think Shag has more traffic than John Laurie.
Chenglish is strong in this thread.

I can think of two major multi-home fires that have happened in the last few years and there have been a ton of drug busts. I highly dislike Citadel, I'd rather live in Ranchlands. That said my sister lives in Citadel and she is a bitch so that might have something to do with it.Originally posted by darklord700
That's the reason I am thinking about Hamptons. Other prime NW areas like Citadel, you do get newer houses for less money than Hamptons. However, the lots are way narrower and not as good. It's a trade off for sure but I just don't like narrrowly packed lots.

Beyond, need some help.
I may have the opportunity to purchase a family members home on my wife's side, who no longer is living there.
She was recently moved to an assisted care facility and they are going to need to sell the home to fund her care.
We are likely to be able to purchase it below market value.
Question to everyone.
What is it like to live there? I'm moving from Evanston, so I am used to the North.
We have two young kids with a third on the way.
What are the HOA fees?
How about architectural controls for renovations and what not?
This literally just came up within the last 24 hours, so I have not done any due diligence and I figured, beyond.ca would clearly be the best source of information haha
Appreciate any feedback you can provide.

I called it back in 2012, it only took 7 years till' it made the news.
I’ve lived here in and off for 14 years now and don’t see any regular sketchy dealings. I’ve been out late at night many times and have no fear of walking around. Probably the sketchiest thing I’ve seen is the prick driving around way too fast in his Ferrari or the kids that drove around shooting BBs at windows 8 years ago. All of my neighbours are great, many have small kids and haven’t shown any concerns. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Other than the asians not knowing how to drive and not stopping for pedestrians I’ve been there for just over 3 years now and no issues other than the two robberies across the street from me and my boy getting hit by a car, All is good, go for it!!
Lol I don't know about other communities but that sounds terrible for only 3 years. I'm having second thoughts on Hamptons now hahaThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Apparently the Hamptons = Falconridge. Jesus that sounds awful.

Lol, I am sarcastic but it's 100% true. I didn't see any of the robberies but I have cameras everywhere and the cops came to me both times to see if I had any video which I did but it didn't show anything and one was a prowler and the other was targeted so I'm not really bothered by it. My boy got hit crossing Country hills Blvd where the co-op is. He had a green light and the weather was perfect that day around 1pm. He was knocked down and got some scraps and bruises on his hands and legs but was fine otherwise and we did go to the hospital to check him over. Driver took off after checking if he was ok but he was only 13 at the time and he was so shocked from the whole ordeal that he didn't even notice his 5x prescription glasses were knock off until he got home. Did a police report and there was a witness but they didn't get the full plates so nothing became of it. I take the bus sometimes too and I can't count the number of times a driver blew by me when I was halfway through the intersection in the pedestrian crosswalk. However all in all, we enjoy living here due to the location, it's close to the kids school and amenities, neighbors are nice (even the ones that got robbed ) and the house was renovated nicely with a decent view so I would still recommend the area. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member.
