I took a G35 for an inspection and the tech took a picture under the body revealing a very rusted cross-member frame.
Is this cause for concern? He had mentioned that its not a big deal but I'd like to get a second opinion.

its not a big deal, its just surface rust, sand it and paint it with black rustoleum.
what does the cross member even do?
It's fine, mine was like that too.
Here is a better picture for reference:
No it isn't vital but damn that thing is rusted to shit. Lots of winter driving I'd say. How many km's are on it? Year?
Ultracrepidarian
The car is an '04 G35 coupe with 76xxx kms, 2nd owner who claims to have rarely winter drivent it. With such low kms, I'm assuming the 1st owner seasonally drove it as well. Just pulled carproof and it was first registered in Calgary, so not an Ontario car.
well think about it, its 8 years old and its been winter driven, it looks bad, but its not. its not rusted through and im willing to bet if you got in there with sand paper, it will be pretty easy to take that off.
Maybe you can use it as a negiotiating tool? Wonder how much it would cost to replace it?
