The Official Happy 10 Years beyond.ca Thread and Video
10 years ago tonight, a couple of car guys started a new car forum for a bunch of friends, a better place for car enthusiasts to gather, share information, and arrange meets in a more efficient manner.
Although the site wasn't open to the public until the wee hours of May 14th, we've traditionally celebrated our official birthday on May 13th, when the forum was first created. Due to problems with the configuration on the first night, it was wiped, and relaunched, hence our first post was officially on May 14th, 2002 at 1:23am. What was originally a hobby, it eventually turned into the largest automotive community in Canada that it is today.
I would personally like to thank every single one of our members, moderators, sponsors, lurkers, trolls, and anyone else that has used this site, promoted this site through word of mouth, contributed to discussions, and have accepted our little project as your own community. Since day 1, we built this community with you, our members, in mind. We listened to what you wanted out of a forum, and we've done our best to provide you with the best experience possible. Without you, beyond.ca would be nothing.
Over the last 10 years, I've met, and have become friends with a lot of you. I've chatted cars with you. I've raced with you. I've travelled with you. I've worked with you. I've partied with you. And I have enjoyed every minute of it.
It's been a wild ride, and I speak for everyone on the beyond.ca team, that we are VERY honored to have been able to provide this community for all of you to enjoy and to be a part of. Here's a little something that we put together, to show how far we've all come in the last decade. It wasn't easy trying to cover 10 years in 12 minutes, so if we missed a chance to speak with you, I apologize.
Thank you very much, every single one of you, and we're looking forward to another decade together.
