Too much rust. Rust means straight iron and not Krupps armor. Its pretty much evident these were rushed out in a hurry and not built for quality.
Although I can see the reactive armor plates strapped on later, which is probably worth more than the tank.
T80 fuel consumption on a flat stretch of land with a perfect condition tank is 2 gallons per mile, but realistically 4 to 6 gallons per mile.
$5,000 worth of fuel would fill the tank of the tank. To realistically use them, you would need one fuel truck for every two tanks.

Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
Surprised that they haven't been gutted for scrap metal.

Lol, there are tons of old yards just chock full of old Russian armor. You can get it for dirt cheap, scrap metal value really.
Russia is quite the place if you want to buy old tanks & other armored vehicles.
If you want radiated tanks & the like used from the Chernobyl reactor disaster, you can get it for almost free, its available from Kiev Ukraine.
Armament is quite a bit cheaper then most people anticipate. Most of it works perfectly fine. The biggest question is shipping costs to you.

"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side"
From the pictures it looks like the engines were stripped out of them.
Which makes the hulls worthless because there is no way to transport it (as evidenced by the rail, which they obviously used to try and transport, but damaged it in doing so)
You would have to torch them into little pieces first.
It would just be cheaper to dig iron out of the ground if you need steel, pig iron is still only $13/ton in my book.
Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
how much for an Avtomat Kalashnikova hahah jk
"You know what this backyard needs?
A tank."
Slightly off-topic, but I cant wait for the Canadian military to sell off their current G-wagons for something else. I need an awesome winter beater/off-roader!
A tank is a bit overkill (mind the pun) for what I would need.

Hang some truck nut off of the back and you have yourself the perfect deerfoot rush hour vehicle.
I wouldn't mind a G-wagen as a winter beaterOriginally posted by Tomaz

The gun barrel is probably the most interesting part of it.
They often use small amounts of exotic and rare metals manufactured to very difficult to master construction techniques to harden it, so that it can survive the shell launch. Chrome, tin, cobalt, etc.
But other times it just cheap iron as well.

Hell yeah. Slap on some chrome mud flaps, angel eye headlights and you are 100% good to go.Originally posted by hampstor
