The concept of the car was to build a small, light, inexpensive, fun little sports car in the mold of a Miata. It was never intended to be a numbers car. It was intended to be a fun little car that you can easily exploit its handling capabilities.

Yea I totally understand and agree with that. Just for me it's not quite there yet.

Gotta do something to make it driftable.
It wouldn't be so bad if there was some torque to go with it, but 151 lb-ft@6400RPM, even with a flat curve, it's pretty lacking.

Test drove the white one at Stampede Toyota. Love driving car and the feel of it, just wish it had more power. Would have been good to have a cam switchover system like VTEC or VVTL-i on the engine and get something like the S2000 at 240HP, you get the extra power and maybe a better engine note to boot.

I did chuckle at the "sound pipe" when I was looking at the engine though.

In a perfect world Toyota would have designed and manufactured the engine because NA engines aren't Subaru's specialty and Toyota has the means to make a high output NA engine. The only thing Toyota on the engine is the DI system. I know some people will say that the flat engine lowers the center of gravity but IMO that's a very minor advantage.

Drove the white car at ST. It's a fun car to boot around...you guys with the "not enough HP" talk should take it for a drive.

That's why it has low resistance tires.

Nothing at this altitude has enough power unless it's boosted or a V8 at least.

I test drove the car too. I was really excited for this car but I actually thinking its lacking HP. I was revving it to about 6-7k rpm and it didnt really put a smile on my face. Let alone owning one and shifting at 4k. However, on the Deerfoot on and off ramp, I was loving it. For 30grand, I could forget about the bland interior, lack of hids, cloth seats, plastic trim on everything. However, I expect more kick to it for that price. If it had 240hp or so, id be all over it. Oh yeah, loved the gearbox.

I'm not big Into this car actually, but I am a high strung N/A fanboy for sure. I want to see a 4 cyl with huge power number N/A.

That's said - driving a 220whp N/A 2L in fort Mac has me hating calgary elevation now!

Change em, install sensors in new wheels.

If you ask them to swap the sensors over when you change wheels it'll likely only be a half hour of labour extra.

Haha, I know, I always want to jump into your threads and say things like "Why don't you just buy a godamn turbo car instead of throwing infinite money at a 13 second NA car?".

But it's pretty easy to see you just love those kinds of cars and far be it for me to suggest you have something else :P
