I said nothing about the IS interior.
Are you personally hurt when someone doesn't like BMW?

If it can go toe to toe with the 3 series fit and finish that means it blows the corolla looking interiors in the Lexus IS cars out of the water
Why would Toyota do that to itself?

my 95 civic has the same interior fit and finish as a rolls royce phantom.
& your civic has better sound...
Not hurt but I've personally had 3 E90s and 4 Subarus so I've spent more time behind the wheel or each brand than just a quick sit down.Originally posted by SilverStreak

You can't compare the two if you spend some time behind the wheel of each. After each car is a few years old the difference in interior fit an finish becomes very obvious as it should considering their respective classes.
Meh, you can make exactly the same points for credit card users. Smart ones pay it off every month, pay no interest and get free payment for the usage (1-2% cash back, air miles, whatever). The rest pay the piper.Originally posted by Toma
Simple.
Because Human Nature.
You WILL pay off your car loan, you will never pay off your HELOC.
So many "ballers" buy high end cars on HELOC, or remortgage, sure, nice to drive a GTR or Zr1 with nothing more than a $300 interest payment.
But at the end of the day, you are just a broke ass, and your debt will remain long after your car is gone.
And for those that think "nah, won't happen to me", [cough]bullshit[/cough] Happens to EVERY "wanna be baller". Always something you will justify throwing onto your HELOC till it's full, or house prices move up and you get it extended.
Both the 2008 Legacy and the 2010 Santa had 5K cash rebates if you didn't finance. You really need to sandbag your payments to make that not worthwhile.

The main point, I believe is that some people just take a HELOC for granted and dig themselves deeper into trouble. It's like a ridiculously awesome credit card. That's not to say that everyone is silly with their money.
Got to see the car up close today and I have to say I am impressed! Well done Toyobaru!

Hit 1080 and enjoy

I can't help but compare this car's characteristics to the old 240s. It may not have been fast in stock form but it was still pretty fun to drive.
Ultracrepidarian
??
What I saw/heard was:
1. Journalist was bored (compared with other car reviews where journalists are laughing their heads off eg.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hDDBN_pIUQ#t=4m45s
or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrhW6W7eZDI#t=12m35s
)
2. Have to shift to 1st gear to climb hill, and even then that was slow. Fail.
3. Might be fun if you changed the gear ratios. Fail.
Maybe you mean to skip to 14m24s (instead of what I'm guessing you mean as the 10m mark - don't know what "1080" means). The journalist seems really pleased with the track performance. Still didn't laugh though - that to me is the ultimate truth of enjoyment.

Just test drove an Auto at Stampede Toyota.. they have a couple of them available right now.
My impressions from the short test drive:
1) Car is definitely slower than I expected it to be... Would likely have to go with the manual if I were to buy just to wring that extra little bit out of the engine. The auto is quite nice when downshifting manually, you get a nice blip of the throttle. The throttle blip down into 2nd gear is what put the biggest smile on my face during the drive. Then again... I enjoy rev matching on my own in a manual just as much if not more when you get a perfect one.
2) cornered like crazy
3) Stereo was off the whole time so cant comment on that
4) All around.. It's a fun car to rip around in. Steering wheel is awesome, seating positon is great, seats are awesome, blind spot is pretty bad but what do you expect.. adjust your mirrors accordingly.
For 31K all in out the door...... I'd have to drive the manual to give a final consensus. WHich means the auto didnt quite do it for me. It's perfect minus the lack of torque.
The laughs are louder when you have breakneck acceleration.
I've never understood why having such an ultra-amazing handler is somehow better for the streets. Most high-performance cars can corner close to 1G and you'll never reach that level on the streets, so having an ultra-handling car (without power) is kind of useless IMO.
There are many more opportunities to enjoy breathtaking acceleration on the street but the only place to enjoy ultra-handlers is on the track as you're obviously not taking ideal cornering lines on a street.
From the video above, the reviewer seems to love the BRZ on the track but thinks it's lame for the street which affirms exactly what I'm saying. The ultra-handling capabilities of the BRZ comes alive on the track but feels meh on the street due to the absence of power.
So what your saying is that u would rather have a cobalt ss turbo instead of a BRZ? Cmon be truthful lolOriginally posted by superlative

Maybe he wants to go to work in the ultimate driving machine, not some boring under-powered econobox. You never know when a wild Nurburgring will appear and you'll need all that sporty stuff.
The more I see these on the road, the more I like them. Definitely grows on you.

Cobalt SS turbo, now there's a car that will spank the BRZ on the drag strip and on the road course!Originally posted by MGCM

Odd comparison, SS/TC will rape the BRZ in every measurable category. In fact, I would probably buy a SS/TC over a BRZ...Originally posted by MGCM

I prefer handling over power as long as the car has "enough" power. Sadly, the BRZ doesn't.
