I've driven an MR2 turbo and Mustang 5.0 in the winter without getting into any accidents and getting stuck only once in the MR2 more due to lack of ground clearance. Winter tires is the key. That said most of Calgary's drivers aren't competent enough to drive these types of cars in winter because they suck even with FWD or AWD.Originally posted by Aleks
RWD in winter is managable with all the traction and stability control programs. I find you're only really limited by ground clearance which applies to FWD cars too. I've had many cars and my GTI was the one that got stuck the most but it was lowered 2".
