Blind Boston Terrier stolen outside of Inglewood shop

A Calgary woman fears someone took her blind 11-year-old Boston Terrier on Thursday afternoon.

Leslie Sweder says she left her dog tied up outside a shop in Inglewood in the city’s southwest.

When she left the store 10 minutes later, the dog — and his leash — had vanished, she says.

“Raymond is blind,” says Sweder. “He’s not going to go anywhere. He’s not a wanderer.”

Sweder has spent hours putting up posters and scouring Inglewood and Ramsey looking for her dog, who is scheduled to undergo cataract surgery in the coming weeks.

“I’m hoping that... whoever has picked him up realizes that he needs to be at home,” says an emotional Sweder.

Raymond is on a special diet and requires daily eye drops.

Sweder contacted police, animal services and many veterinarians close to her home, asking if anyone has seen her dog.

I beg to SEE how in any shape this dog is healthy the thing is blind or smell in this matter, as he didnt know who his owner was as to he couldnt smell his own owner either

Hell, people will try to take your dogs at home too.

In my old place, I was with my dog in the backyard (fully fenced), I heard the phone ring, so I ran inside to grab it. 6-7 mins later, I come back outside, and my pure bred siberian husky is just *gone*.

I open the back gate, and look down the alley to see some guy jogging down the alley with my dog on a leash. I ran him down and tackled him and kicked the shit out of him. Fucker took the dog from my yard, had his own leash, and was taking off. If I had come out a moment later, I never would have found my dog.

I called the cops, but they never found the guy.

I never had that problem with my 110lb "American Staffordshire terrier", Pitbulls needed dangerous dog licenses in BC. Really though who the fuck steals a dog? To me that's like kidnapping a family member.

This is absolutely sick, I really hope all turns out well, and if someone indeed "kidnapped" the poor guy, I hope they serve punishment for whatever pain that dog had to endure while helplessly being taken away from it's best friend.

There is a bylaw for this very reason, laws to remind those who are adult in body but child in mind. Would anyone leave a bike unlocked for any amount of time, yet they tie their dogs up at Safeway for 15 minutes.

Well the general forum rule "If you have nothing to contribute to a discussion, don't post" has never been strongly enforced - if anything, these general forum rules are there to hopefully educate some members as to how to properly conduct themselves on a forum such as this.

For the most part, Beyond is a kind of wild west kind of place IMHO that will tolerate a lot and which will have the heavy hand of the law come down in extreme cases. Childish shit - the users that post this crap can be blocked and chances are that they're not contributing much of any value in most cases anyway.
