Westgro told me no without the permit too.

Westgro also told me no without a permit. Luckily I was able to track down a 10L of Par3 through another source. Before anybody asks, no, I don't have any to spare, my extended family has already claimed every last drop that I don't need.

Strange, perhaps the influx made them question the policy. Myself and a friend bought some no issues at all. Ohh well, at least I got enough for another 10 years
If it helps, I found that UFA stocks Trillion, PAR III, and the Killex concentrate and will sell to anyone. The guy at UFA told me that the ingredients are the same, so he sold me on the Killex 1L concentrate. What he didn't mention is that it's at 1/2 the concentration, so at $20/L, I effectively paid 4x as much as if I'd bought a 10L of Trillion / PARIII. If you don't need / want 10L of the stuff or have a hard time getting to a farm store, Killex might might be an option.
The products are pretty much the same, and in the end about the same amount of chemical ends up on the lawn, but each product recommends a drastically different amount of water. I broke it down per 10m2 to try and do an even comparison. Here's the breakdown of the 3 products I just did if anyone's interested. I'm not a marth whiz, feel free to recheck my work.
Killex
----------------------------------
2,4D 95g/L
Mecoprop-P 52.52g/L
Dicamba 9g/L
Directions: 6ml/L for 50ft2 (12.92ml/10m2 in 2.15L of water)
PAR III
----------------------------------
2,4D 190g/L
Mecoprop 100g/L
Dicamba 18g/L
Directions: 55ml/3L for 100m2 (5.5ml/10m2 in 0.3L of water)
Trillion
----------------------------------
2,4D 190g/L
Mecoprop-P 100g/L
Dicamba 18g/L
Directions: 50ml/10L for 100m2 (5ml/10m2 in 1L of water)
I went to UFA and they said no if i can't prove i live in a farm or acres.
Anyone got some extra to spare or know where i can buy these?
Thanks
I went to the UFA in Airdrie, they didn't seem to care. Also that Agrium place posted a few pages back will sell to anyone, but I just couldn't get down there during their business hours.
Hmm, this is weird, beccause that is the location that i went and they said no :-(.Originally posted by carson blocks

Will try again with a friend and see if he is luckier.
About an hour ago Airdrie UFA told me no for Par 3 and Trillion. I did pick up some Killex though, it's more expensive but has the same ingredients.
Ok,
I got my hand on 10L of PAR III after go through all troubles and pay a little bit more for 10L
pmed me if you want some as I only need 2L,
Price is $15 per L
I'm surprised that of the three, Killex is the hottest. I thought Killex was diluted for homeowners who didn't really know what they were doing so they wouldn't kill their grass.Originally posted by carson blocks

Also, the higher water rate of Killex will help. You'd think that it wouldn't, but it helps to get better coverage.
For perennial weeds, give them a good shot in the fall when it's starting to get colder out. They're hard to kill but at that time they're beginning to store nutrients in their roots and it will take the herbicide too.
bump!!
Looking for 2L of Par3 or Trillion. Lawn being taking over by dandelions - must fight back.
Anyone have some sitting around?
Send PM
I have a small area (around 8feet x 8 feet) under my pine tree that is almost 100% quackgrass... any ideas on how to get rid of it? I am considering loosening the soil and pulling it all out by hand and then reseeding, but would be curious if there are any chemicals that would make my life easier...
i just bought some Par III ... if anyone is looking for some I will consider parting it out. pm me

FACT - The day you just give up and don't care about dandelions anymore is a glorious day, and it will add 3 years to your life.
What's with this all-consuming war against this little yellow flower?
Dandelion hate is a scam perpetuated by chemical giants that needed a new enemy after WWII.
Unless you're a shareholder, it's best to walk away.
I just physically remove them whenever I see them popping up. It's been under control so far.
The yellow flowers is one thing. There are quack grass and giant thistles. If I go away for couple weeks they get to like 3 feet high. I weed and feed the grass but the flower beds are a different story. An some of the neighbours' lawn are all infested.
For those using pescticides: Is this really stuff you want to be deploying into your living space, year after year?
Am I the only one out there that actually enjoys physically removing dandelions with a weed grabber? I actually find it fun lol.
I think our lawn may have to be uprooted and resodded.
The dandelions we have can survive lacquer thinner.
I use Green With Envy lawn services and they aerate, power rake, and fertilize my lawn every year and little to no dandelions sprouts up.Originally posted by flipstah

He said he uses golf green-grade fertilizer, not sure what brand but it takes care of those damn dandelions
