    Default 04 SRT-4 for Bonneville

Car is fully built and will be going for the 230 mph record for the class at Bonnevile.

Finally got more time to work on this.

Turbo got here a few weeks ago. Just a little guy

Started by moving the engine around in the bay to get the manifold in behind.

Fought a little but got it into place nicely.

When I went to fit the turbo on, it wouldn't fit through the top, up from the bottom or any other way. I knew I needed to modify the firewall to get the turbo to fit so I thought I might as well modify it properly. I cut it out and will make a new patch recessed back to give the turbo lots of room. Brake lines will be rebent to go lower as well.

Exhaust/Intake are not oriented the way I need it so will rotate it tomorrow. Also going to mount the air-water intercooler inside the firewall to help it stay cool.

Made the mounts for the fuel cell and also drilled the hole for the parachute mount though the rear facia. It will be a round tube coming through mounting to a plate on the trunk floor and a removable plate on the back so the chute can be removed, a license plate installed and the hole is hidden.

What kind of gearing is used?

Will you change the caster for better high speed senitivity and moving?

Very cool build and very ambitious. Best wishes, keep us update.

Stock 1-4 gears and a higher 5th gear. With the tire size I will run and 8500 rpm, it would do 251 mph. But I am expecting it to be drag limited in the 240 range even with over 900 hp.

Had some more time to work on it last night so I started roughing in the Air-Water Intercooler. It is going to be inside the passenger cabin due to space issues and that I think it will keep it alot cooler and the reservoir will be in the passenger seat area. The new firewall will be fabricated such that the inlet and outlet of the intercooler stick through grommeted holes.

Recieved my intercooler piping and fittings. Everything fits pretty well, but I need to do a few cuts and welds on the pipe from the cold side of the IC to the intake.

The big brown truck delivered my wastegate and the blow off valve. It will be a tight fit for both but they should fit just fine. I am debating having the dump pipe off the wastegate come directly into the downpipe right after the turbo, thoughts?
