Got all the parts back welded up. They look beautiful. Also installed the 1600cc injectors for fun. Could possibly run this POS this year.

Dropped the tranny the right way using a hoist instead of brute force. After all the times I have done this in parking lots, pits at the track, and without the right tools, it was 10x easier by myself this way. Replaced the Bullydog modular clutch with a very nice ACT twin disc. Realized I didn't have enough red loctite so I called it a night. Didn't want the same issue I had before with the bolts backing out of the crankshaft....

Been crazy with work but found a few hours this evening to get more done on the car. Bought the needed red loctite, and finished the clutch. I wanted to ensure all the charge piping fits, and start fabricating the new firewall. Everything is tight, but fits so I am hoping to start installing the frame work tomorrow night.

I started the fabrication of the frame that will hold the IC and also be skinned with the new firewall. There are tons of curves and of course nothing is symmetrical in this car so it is taking quite a while to measure 4 times and then get test fit, cut, etc... I think I should be finished framing it with one more night and be on to skinning it with 16 gauge steel.

PS: None of the pictures seemed to turn out due to the darkness.

Finished most of the frame tonight then ran out of angle... Surprisingly there is over 10' in this thing. I drilled and tapped a few holes to mount the IC, and cut some cardboard templates in preparation for the sheet metal to follow.

Sheeted it in tonight. Tomorrow I will probably mount fuel cell and build another firewall between the trunk and the passenger cabin and if I get super ambitious, finish covering all the holes on the front firewall.

Had a few hours today and finished framing and sheeting the new front firewall. Also made the fuel cell mounts. I rough cut the new rear firewall that will be a real pain to fit as there are even more curves that a weight watchers meeting. I might tackle the steering column mount and new dash tonight if I get time....

Started the internal skeleton for the front facia. At very high speeds I was told by the Racedeck guys that it would bend back until it would rub on the crash bar and the sides would be bent down almost 2". I am bending 1/4" pencil rod to get the contour and I will be bending up some 1" tube to frame it. The overall idea will be to have it mount to the crash bar, 2 bolts into each fender, and then the bottom will be covered by a sheet that bolts to the rad support.

What's that cage weigh? Looks like a ton of TIG time.

Should be around 250 lbs or so.

The pretty cage is not my handy work, it is all a local fabricator (Langdon)

Hahaha, holy shit. When I saw this bumped I figured it was Shawn making fun of you for being the last guy to still own a Neon.

Can't wait for this thing to never run. Literally cannot wait, because I would die.
