    Default Web page design software

So the story goes like this - my wife is involved with several non-profit organizations that currently have their own web sites. Seeing as money is tight with any small non-profit and that they just don't have gobs of monies sitting around that can be used to hire a professional web design guru, they are looking for a freeware type of web page design product that can work in windows (XP, 7) and that someone with a good knowledge of MS Office could use to build and/or maintain a relatively simple web site - no flash, probably no java stuff for the most part. The people in these groups that would be doing this know how to use FTP to transfer their files and some even have a good working knowledge of most HTML coding.

Throw up your ideas for software that might fit the bill for these groups - Frontpage is what they have been using but that is fast becoming an also ran.

    WordPress.

Since it's for a non-profit hit me up and I'll hook you guys up with a real nice design package for it.

WordPress is free, web-based software that makes it super simple to create/maintain a website. Plus you can work on it from anywhere you have an internet connection

I'd say switch it over to these folks, if that's an option. All you need in one place. No tools or previous design knowledge necessary (although it helps). You're welcome.
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

www.wix.com is a bit better on having no duration of the free version. Except that there are ads on your site by them. But look at them. Looks to be similar platform as squarespace.com

Wordpress it will be - logged into TELUS where they're hosting their current .ca web site, used the installer there to install Wordpress, built the required database and it looks like it will be ridiculously easy to have almost anyone maintain the web site once the template is built.

Heard about Wordpress elsewhere and through searches and A790's stamp of approval pretty much seals the deal.

Thx to all for their suggestions above.
    Will fuck off, again.

Wordpress is a great basic CMS and there are plenty of themes out there to fit the bill. Check out http://themeforest.com for tons of ideas.
