HUDLER AGREES TO TERMS ON FOUR-YEAR, $16M DEAL WITH FLAMES
Jiri Hudler has agreed to terms on a four-year, $16 million contract with the Calgary Flames.
The Czech winger has spent his entire seven-year NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings. Hudler tallied 25 goals and 50 points in 81 games last year with Detroit.
The former second-round pick won a Stanley Cup with the Wings in 2008. Hudler has 87 goals and 214 points in seven seasons in Detroit.
The 28-year-old played with Dynamo Moscow in the KHL in 2009-10 before returning to Detroit for the past two seasons.

Stemp is 3rd line.
Fills the void IMO. I really like the signing.

So that's it more/less till the season starts? no other changes to the roster?
Why would you assume that? It's only the second day of free agency and there's 4 months left until the start of the season.Originally posted by MGCM

Jagr coming??
No assumption, thus the question, i don't follow NHL very muchOriginally posted by D'z Nutz

Not a good signing IMHO. Joker would have been better suite than Hudler. This season will be a write-off for being a flames fan once again.
Flames sign Ben Street to a 2 year, 2 way deal.
Contract terms: Two-year, two-way contract with an Average Annual Value of $575,000 / $105,000.

So now that we've almost ran our cap space out, let's take all that remaining money and toss it at Jagr for a year!Originally posted by SilverRex

Hudler at $4m > Jokinen at $5m+ (or whatever he signs for)
I like it. Hope there's even more roster turn over before the season starts. And I assume these means no Jagr which sucks.
Hudler does hit a few less cross bars than Jokinen.

Jokinen to the jets for two years, 9 mil!
With Jokinen's signing, this Hudler deal doesnt look all that bad now. At least its a change.
Jagr would've never come to Calgary. He's here to win a cup and a) we're a long, long, LOOONG way from that and b) we have no money, unless he's willing to play $1M a year hahaOriginally posted by Team_Mclaren
Jagr coming??
We'll have to see how Hudler pans out in Calgary... He had Zetterberg in Detroit and at times Datsyuk to feed him the puck...
