Doesn't look like it will happen.

With the increase of the cap, Sarich salary cut and the soon-to-be-departed Joker, I have a feeling that Kipper won't be going anywhere.

The problem however will be to ensure that the #2 goaltender (whoever it ends up being) gets a decent amount of playing time so that they don't have to buy a starter when Kipper is done.

Kipper is still one of the best goalies in the league. Counting only 30+ games hes top 10 in both save % and GAA on a CRAPPY team. He may very well be our best player!

Having said that, I agree with Sputnik, the 70 starts kipper got is waaaaay too much. We need to be developing our young guys because kipper is very close to the end of his career.

I despise Sarich....but honestly at half the salary he may be able to fit in. Comeau and Stempniak were extremely stupid signings...like wth is Feaster thinking.

If we can sign a legitimate top 6 forward and they put Sven Baertschi in the line up I honestly think we are better then last year. We could always sign a guy like Jagr and hope he plays as good here as he did in PHI. I know he is old but he still is worth like 3.5mil he is going to get paid.

Haha fuck joker for another year? Give me a break. Last year was a "must perform" year for him and he didn't step up. Glad to see him gone. He ate up a top 2 line spot which could have gone to someone better. And Jagr?? Jesus that is the absolute worst player we could sign, apart from brodeur.

Stemp's signing may be a touch high, but sarich is finally signed at what he's worth. He's been over payed for so long that everyone forgets that he's actually an asset to the team.

I take it that by "ate up a top 2 line spot which could have gone to someone better" you mean "was second on the team in scoring, led the team in power play goals and assists and was tied for the team lead in game winning goals".

Yeah...might have been a teeny bit drunk when I wrote that last night. He's going to leave a gap, but I do think we can get someone who will improve that position. It's not too hard to lead the flames in scoring stats these days.
