My Samsung dishwasher is a full time Samsung. Once it's replaced, I think I may film myself destroying it in the driveway with a sledgehammer (or perhaps a baseball bat like in Office Space).
I think it's highly probable that me and Mrs.VagMightier would watch that footage months later while giving each other Dutch Rudders.
Holy shit - I have awesome ideas!

I managed to get someone to pay me to take my old Samsung dishwasher away from my house. It was some retribution at least, fuck Samsung.

Miele or bust. They might be unreasonably expensive compared to others, but man are they good.

Samsung somehow manages to corner the market in shitty appliances. I have given up on getting our ice maker to work in our fridge that is constantly frozen anyways.

I think I read somewhere recently about a class-action suit regarding Samsung icemakers, and people getting them replaced for free. May be worth a Google.
    But yeah Samsung appliances suck.

    Yep. Excellent units.

Bosch are also very good. Currently rocking a 16 year old Miele unit that kicks ass.

Two houses ago, we bought the last Bosch built in Germany before they moved production. It was also excellent (mid tier)

I have the 39db model. It is much quieter than the 44db model, which I used to have.

Are they actually available? When my 15 year old Bosch died I wanted a Miele and there were zero available, and the wait time was like a year.

Damn I should've bought the house, taken the dishwasher and sold the house.

    Hey same.

Also I had a 20 year old (at least) Bosch in our last house, which we replaced with a new mid-level Bosch back in 2017. By the time we sold our house earlier this year, that “new” Bosch was no longer cleaning dishes, and leaving tons of jet dry on the dishes after the cycle was done. Hopefully they’re better now.

If it was a 500 series they had known problems with the rinse aid gasket. Easy enough to fix. Also the door handle was guaranteed to break (abs + heat)

Is negotiation possible on appliances or is it just msrp no deals? Whats reasonable for a dishwasher install these days?

Absolutely you can negotiate. Especially if you are buying multiple appliances in one transaction.
At the very least you should cross shop the different stores.

Not sure about negotiation part, but dishwasher install is extremely easy for any somewhat capable male. If cost is anything more than say $75, I would DIY.

Enough talk about getting people to install dishwashers! Time for some man’s work around the house. Was super windy a couple of days ago and had a decent sized spruce come down over by the pond. Off-roading with the plow was interesting in a couple of spots.

Nowhere close to the impressive things I've seen on this thread, but I did get my summer wheels mounted on the wall using the single posts. Took a bit of time to get everything measured up. I could have condensed them a bit more to save some space but overall I'm quite happy with the way things turned out. Tomorrow I'm going to research a solution to get the bikes mounted on the wall in that space on the left hand side of the wall.
